"I had told Patrick previously that we had a trap, and a skunk burrowing under our driveway. Asked him if we trapped it would he come pick it up and relocate it. He said, yes, just give me a call. The very next morning (today) we had trapped the skunk. I called Patrick about 9 am, and he was here before noon. Patrick and his guy knew exactly what they were doing. Covered the trap with the tarp, and didn’t get sprayed by the skunk. All while battling the wind!! They were very professional and quick. Hopefully we don’t have any more skunks, but if we do, I will call Patrick at K.C. Critter Solutions, LLC."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

There’s little scientific evidence to suggest that homemade remedies to ward off wildlife are effective. But, often, when using them alongside other management techniques, it won’t do any harm to try. Suggestions include using urine-soaked kitty litter or sweat-soaked clothing items. Try applying them around your fence perimeters. Always read the instructions carefully for any commercially-bought repellents and opt for EPA-approved products. Multiple applications, especially after rain, are often necessary.

The best hornet repellent includes a variety of essential oils such as peppermint, clove, geranium, and lemongrass, all of which have a pungent smell that hornets can’t stand.

An owl's worst enemy in the wild is often other raptors and environmental factors. Among the avian threats, larger owls or other birds of prey can pose a danger, engaging in territorial disputes or competing for food resources. Terrestrial predators like foxes, raccoons, and larger mammals may target owl nests or young fledglings. Environmental factors like severe weather conditions, habitat loss, and food availability changes can also significantly impact owl populations.

Some natural applications are known to make bed bugs unhappy, like peppermint and tea tree oil. But bed bugs are tenacious and as long as there are sleeping humans around to feed on, they’ll stick around. It’s best to destroy them outright by using heat, steam, or fumigation methods.

There aren’t any solutions that can rid your yard of mosquitoes for good. But with a good integrated management strategy that combines repellents, treatments, decluttering, and drainage, you can keep populations in check.
