"I only write reviews if something was outstanding or very poor, Terry and his crew are outstanding. I let my yard get overgrown with unwanted trees, weeds, and a brush pile the size of a small car. In 4 hours they did what would take me 4 weeks. They gave me an estimate very quickly after getting info about my job, and after talking to friends about the scope of the job it was very reasonable. Would recommend for any of your outdoor needs."

"Jay & his crew neatly & professionally cut large limbs from a large walnut tree that had grown over my roof. The job was completed without damaging the tree, my roof, yard & landscaping. The crew even cut up the limbs for my firewood pile, & left me a great pile of mulch for my landscape. I will definitely be using Jay's Firewood & Mulch, LLC again. 5 star service at an affordable price."

"The crew was punctual and split up the work quickly.
The deadwooding went by quickly, and they cleaned up that section of yard very well. I was impressed with the care taken there.
The tree removal went well. We were able to keep some for firewood. They maneuvered around our other trees and flowers carefully, and made quick work of the tree. They also tried to clean up around the removed tree.
Unfortunately, it was another crew for the stump grinding and that crew did very little to clean up afterward. The stump was ground out however they did not level/remove the excess chippings, and they left sawdust/chips everywhere - house windows, the garden, the nearby trees, my car (about 30 feet away), even the grass was covered in a thick layer of wood dust. I saw a single tiny leaf blower used and that was it. Most of the dust I was able to get back into a pile in about 10 minutes but we had to regrade and landscape a bit. This wasn't a huge problem for us and we didn't complain so I don't take much off the rating.
However, I will consider that that isn't part of their normal crew, who were head and shoulders above the stump grinders in terms of both cleanup and carefulness. For the price they still offered a great value. I would use them again.

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

We always recommend wearing a protective mask when blowing leaves (as well as goggles if possible). Blowing leaves creates a lot of dust, and in many cases that dust contains a bunch of allergens that can make those sensitive very miserable. Even worse, moldy leaves can contain fungi and bacteria that could make humans as animals very sick. Mask up before starting your leaf project, and if anyone is helping you collect the leaves it’s a good idea if they wear a mask, too.

Yes, most services include removing grass clippings and yard waste. Confirm with your provider.

Using a leaf blower is often the easiest way to pick up leaves. It quickly and efficiently gathers leaves into manageable piles, requiring less physical effort than manual raking. Additionally, you can choose to bag the collected leaves or use a mulching mower to break them down into natural mulch, simplifying the cleanup process further.

A pre-emergent herbicide is the most effective way to avoid stickers growing in your yard. However, if some manage to make it through, a post-emergent herbicide is the most effective way to kill them. However, environmental concerns exist when using chemicals on a lawn. Try vinegar or baking soda applications to kill sticker plants for a more natural yet still effective method.

Many privet varieties are considered invasive, particularly in North America. They can grow quickly, spread into the wild, and push out native species if left uncontrolled. It’s a particular problem for warmer southern states, and some regions even have warnings or regulations against planting certain types of privet. You can reduce (but not eliminate) the chances of privet spreading by cutting its flowers in summer before they develop.
