Small jobs welcome

"Excellent customer service! They came out and pressure washed my house, two decks, shed, and my side walk and were the only ones who gave me the best price for all of this. And on the bright side, it only took them a couple of hours! Now I no longer have to worry about slipping and sliding around when it rains! They even answered all of my questions!"

"The Squeegee Squad crew was helpful and efficient. I had some issues with gutters and a downspout being clogged on a high roof. The Squad cleared out gutters and downspout, then put gutter guards over the gutters. A few days later, we had a heavy rainstorm and no more gutter overflow. They also cleaned the discolored siding (green and grey mildew and soil) and gutters, which freshened up the look of the house. As others noted, the service is not necessarily inexpensive, but for me it was worth the money to get the job done quickly, thoroughly and without me climbing up on the roof. In addition, they helped me cover a cloth gazebo canopy near my house. In the future I'll remove the canopy before a cleaning."

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

The life expectancy of a pressure washer depends on the model, its overall quality, and how well it is maintained. Most pressure washers have a life expectancy rating, typically measured in hours of use. Many models are rated for up to 500 hours, which can translate to a lifespan of around 10 years for a homeowner who uses the machine for about 50 hours per year. If you plan on using your pressure washer regularly, you may want to look for a higher-quality model rated for 2,000 hours or more.

These parts of the house are okay to pressure wash:

  • Natural wood decking that is not stained or painted

  • Siding made of vinyl, aluminum, and cement

  • Concrete

  • Most children’s toys

  • Outdoor furniture

  • Trash cans and recycle bins

This answer is a bit tricky because experts say both. You should apply your cleaning solution from bottom to top, but rinse from top to bottom to avoid streaking. When it comes to multi-story houses, you’ll want to start at the top floor and work your way down, but follow the above instructions for each level as if it were an independent structure, rather than washing the whole house as one unit.

You should always power wash your driveway before applying a sealant. At any given time, your driveway could be covered with algae and moss, tire residue, oil and rust stains, and any combination of leaves, twigs, and dirt. If you skip power washing, you’ll be trapping the dirt and grime beneath the sealant and lowering its chance of cementing itself to your driveway. While you can expect the cost to pressure wash your driveway to average between $100 and $350, the few hundred dollars beats an unattractive driveway or paying extra to reapply your driveway sealer.

This process doesn’t necessarily require soap or detergent, but it definitely helps. You can get by with just using water, but remember, brick requires a lower-than-average pressure level when compared to concrete, so forgoing detergent increases the time it takes to spot clean stains and debris once you finish with the pressure washer. Brick is especially porous, so the less water you use on it, the better.
