Atlantis Drainage Solutions was incorporated in 1997. The President, Ken Banks, was previously employed with a local foundation repair company for 6 1/2 years before starting his own company. It was his belief based on personal experience, as well as professional engineer statements, that the majority (85%) of wet basements could be made dry or maintained dry by improving and managing the water run-off (drainage) around the structure. Therefore our motto became, We Correct the Cause Not the Symptom!

"They did good work. However, they promised to set me up with an electrician to do the electrical connections. They never did despite my repeated calls. Once they got paid they lost interest and did not follow up."

Horizontal Earthworks focuses on listening to what the customer envisions as the final product. We then provide a detailed description & estimated cost of the service. We have between 3-15 employees depending on the time of the year and use one sub-contractor for all concrete work because of the quality of his work. All other services are provided by Horizontal Earthworks employees. We take pride in providing a product that will last and put a great amount of effort in base preparation, & drainage to ensure our product lasts.

"We were impressed with Scott's (the owner of Horizontal Earthworks) professional attitude from the outset of this project. After contacting him, he made an appointment to meet us at our site and he arrived exactly on time. He listened to the plans for the project as we outlined them and within a few days submitted detailed plans along with the estimated cost. We decided to revise the original plan and he again visited the site and came up with details for the revised plan within a matter of a few days. Once we signed the contract, Scott had his crew here at the agreed upon time and began work. The entire project was completed within approximately 7 workdays and was done exactly according to plan. Scott's crew was efficient and respectful of our property--once they completed their work each day, they tidied up the worksite and left no materials or tools strewn around our property. Importantly, the lines of communication between Scott and ourselves was superb. He always let us know when tasks would be accomplished and if we had any questions, he answered promptly. We would not hesitate to hire Horizontal Earthworks for future projects and recommend the company without reservation."

The time that it takes to fill in a pool with dirt varies based on the size of the pool and the equipment you have available. Pea gravel is the most common type of gravel, and it can be made of limestone, granite, basalt, sandstone, and many other types of rock. The strength in gravel comes from the distribution across the stones, so while one rock type may not be particularly strong (like sandstone), the matrix of small rocks that is gravel can become incredibly strong when installed correctly.
