"JP Barlow did an outstanding job moving my office. They were extremely professional. They were very cautious and careful with everything. It was not an easy move (the move was to a second floor walkup), but they did it quickly and without complaint. They are incredible! I will use them again without hesitation."

"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"These two Darrion and Mike! They made it happen. So professional and respectful. Wonderful personalities. Very hard workers and they got the job done! My entire experience with Arch Movers was good, from my first phone call to job completion. Thanks for making moving a little less stressful. I was only given the option of Moving in State for what job I had done, but again they loaded my moving containers for a long distance move."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Renting a moving truck is often the cheapest way to move long-distance, with costs ranging from $1,000 to $2,100. For smaller moves with fewer items, a moving container can cost as little as $700. As the distance of your move increases, using moving pods or containers can become more cost-effective because you can ship them to your destination and avoid transportation costs like gas, mileage, and lodging.

The most cost-effective way to move is to DIY most of the moving tasks, including packing, driving the moving truck, and loading and unloading. While DIY moving is typically the least expensive option, it makes the process much more time-consuming and difficult. To eliminate some of the physical and time stress associated with DIY moves, consider hiring professional movers for the most essential tasks, such as loading and unloading furniture, and completing easier tasks on your own.

You don’t want to put anything on top of your mirror when you move it. You also want to limit the possibility that something heavy will fall on the glass and shatter it. For this reason, it’s not a good idea to lay a mirror flat in the moving truck.

It costs an average of $4,565 to move out of state, but prices vary significantly based on the specifics of your move. Your total price tag will depend on the load size and the distance you’re traveling, but you can expect it to cost significantly more to move out of state than locally.

Yes, you can take your potted plants with you when you move if you use sterilized potting soil. However, some states have strict guidelines about this practice, so it’s best to consult the Department of Agriculture’s regulations surrounding pest control and plant types ahead of your move.
