"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"The gentleman who moved me showed up on time. Plus moved my items in a professional and efficient way. The cost of the move was very reasonable. I would use them again especially for a short notice move."

"I was moving on short notice and working within a budget. Marie, the customer service rep, walked me through every step and helped alleviate my concerns, as I had previously used another moving company and had a bad experience. The price quote was very fair. Santonio, Mason, and Austin were fantastic!!! From start to finish they were friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely professional. They worked quickly and handled all items with care. I am extremely appreciative and grateful to them for providing a great moving experience. I highly recommend using Arch Moving, and will definitely use them the next time I need moving services. 10/10 experience!!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

Shared shipping is the cheapest way to move items overseas.

Start by removing any obstacles in the moving path, such as side tables, lamps, or other furniture. If your couch has legs, unscrew them. Measure the couch and the stairway to ensure you have enough room; if it seems unlikely, examine the shape and size of the couch and decide whether it might fit better up the stairway and through doorways on its side, held diagonally, or moved in an upright position.

Consider putting the sofa on a dolly to go up the stairs. It should be able to fit upright on a standard dolly with wheels. You’ll still need to lift the dolly—with the couch on it—up the stairs, but it will reduce the physical strain. The person holding the dolly should pull the couch up, while the helper should be on the other side, keeping the couch secure and steady.

If you don’t have a dolly, the person in front should lift the couch slightly higher than the person in the back to create more stability. The person in the back should also be the stronger mover, as most of the weight will be distributed there.

Yes, it’s worth the cost to hire professional long-distance movers. Professional movers will ensure your household belongings reach your destination safely and efficiently—with many companies already having made similar moving trips recently. Also, professional movers have the proper equipment and experience to ensure your move goes smoothly.

Yes, it’s possible to move a shed without dismantling it. You can roll it from one location to another or use a pickup truck, trailer, or forklift to move a fully assembled shed.

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to how far you can move your house. Interstate moves will involve additional permits and regulations, with some states having different requirements than others. The most important factor relating to the distance you can move a house is the route that has to be taken to get there. In areas with narrow, winding roads, hilly terrain, and low-clearance bridges, it can be very difficult and expensive to move a home long distances.
