"Delivery was delayed due to credit inquiry. After the concern was raised, shipment was rushed to us. Self installation didn't go as easy. Issue was resolved over the phone. The glass break sensor was a bit sensitive to loud noise such as cabinet door closing and door sensor repeatedly falls off and had to be reattached. Notification of alarm activation was fast and made to the right contact numbers. This prevented false alarm calls to the police."

"We responded to the Champion Winter/Spring ads offering a two for one windows deal. The salesman was very good about explaining the product. The difficulty came after the installation of the 5 windows when the installer -pointed out that the one “picture window” for our patio was not the triple pane we had ordered. We were told that they would just reorder the glass and they would have it in two weeks times. It took 7 months and 3 visits and broken promises that the next time they would get it right before we finally got the correct triple pane glass we ordered. A neighbor had similar problems but worse, some of her glass came broken. The company seems to have problems fulfilling their orders and no one wanted to tell us the truth about why they could not get this one small window right. The local Champion manager would not even return our calls. Finally we were able to get in touch with a regional manager who seemed to be direct and honest. He would not give any further discount for the window despite all the wasted time and inconvenience it caused us. We don’t know whether it was because the company had been recently sold and there seemed to be several new employees or whether they had production and delivery issues from the factory but we don’t think we will ever know the full story. Additionally I would just say about the product that it seems to be fine except if you just want too open the top of the window you have to use a step ladder to get hoe of the rim and open and close it. It is also stiff and not easy to slide. They offer no pole or any tool so you don’t need to use the ladder. Otherwise the windows seems to be what the sales rep told us. I would not use this company again."

"The young man came out.  He got on the roof and took a picture of the tear in the roof.  He came down and showed me what

had to be done.  He gave me a price and came back later that same day.  He fixed the roof and I've had no more problem with

it.  I was very pleased.

"The salesperson was clear (mostly) and the work was done on time and well -- finished in one day and cleaned up very well. My one caveat is that the salesperson clearly stated that the work would be done by a local contractor, which was, I guess, technically true, since it looks like a local contractor subcontracted to a group of men (Polish or Russian) who drove up from Chicago and did the work. I was led to believe it would be done by local workers so that was a bit off-putting"

"Anchor Contracting came out immediately and gave me a very fair bid to redo a deck and siding that had been damaged by a fire and was unsafe. The work they did was excellent, the price was right and was done exactly on time. The owner, Sean Ichrist, was courteous and professional. After the work was completed, all areas were cleaned of debris. His bid and final bill were exactly the same. As a property manager of a large condo complex, it is wonderful to deal with the honesty and professionalism that Anchor Contracting and Sean bring to the job. I look forward to working with Anchor again."

Glass and Mirrors questions, answered by experts

Hard water stains are caused by hard water. Hard water contains a lot of minerals, like calcium and magnesium. When water on your glass surfaces dries out, the minerals stay behind and stick to the glass. This results in a residue that looks like white cloudy or streaky spots. Call a pro to install a water softener to banish hard water problems.

Replacing window glass instead of the entire window is more cost-effective, maintains the frame's aesthetics, and reduces waste. It improves insulation and energy efficiency and can be completed more quickly with minimal disruption to the home.

This happens when condensation forms due to your room temperature being lower than its dew point. You can clean the glass with a combination of baking soda, vinegar, and warm water to wipe away the fog from the doors.

The average mirror has a lifespan of 10 to 15 years. After that, the coating begins to deteriorate, losing its reflective properties. Acrylic mirrors have a slightly shorter lifespan of seven to 10 years. Higher-quality acrylic sheets with UV-resistant properties have lifespans similar to those of your average mirror. By maintaining your mirrors and keeping them out of direct sunlight when not in use, you can extend their lifespan. Some mirrors can last for decades.

This can be a matter of personal preference, but a good rule of thumb is to center your bathroom mirror over the sink’s faucet. In some cases, if the sink is off-center in the vanity or  you have multiple sinks in the same vanity, you may find it more aesthetically pleasing to center the mirror over the vanity.
