"Innovative, basement authority was referred to us. JP came to our home and did the free inspection. He was very thoughtful and professional. He provided us with a quote for installing of inside drain system , new sump pump and air filtration system. We were pleased with the description and details of the products suggested. We accepted the bid and a month later the team came to our home. Within two days we had the new system installed. Everyone was great. Very attentive to our needs and desires. We would highly recommend them."

"We had used Ron a couple times in Hector from word of mouth for tree branch back up, pricing always reasonable and not overly crazy, but worth the work, of course! Then our underground plumbing rusted..nightmare! He was available to talk through situations as we had to demo basement for us to save money and for him to put plumbing in, just great! Everything was fixed timely, professionally, and good conversation between men! Highly recommend!!"

"Wade did a great job. Wade called and asked if he could come 1 hour earlier than scheduled. I was at work, but agreed to meet him 1/2 hour before my appt time. he arrived right on time. He needed a valve for the waterline and ran out to get one...didn't charge for that time. I was charged for 1 1/2 hours @$120/hour plus parts. I used the Angie's list coupon for an addt'l 10% off including parts for a final total of $205.20."

"It went very well. Chris explained everything well. Josh and Tony were the installers. They did an awesome job. Really figured out the piping so it fit with existing rooms. Explained what they were going to do, kept me informed as they did it, then explained what was done when complete. Made sure I understood everything before they left. Great job. You don't see this kind of attention to detail these days. Radon level before installation was 4.0. After installation is now <0.3."
When possible, the pipe is run to the garage, and the fan is in the garage attic.
When there is no way to get the pipe through the interior of the building, the fan and pipe will be outside.

"Called in a panic. Gladly paid to be put to the top of the service list. Sump pump broke and we were struggling to keep the water at bay to keep our basement from flooding. Mark arrived promptly installed a new pump and we are better than new.

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

Most sump pumps come with power cords that can be plugged into an outlet, but there are options that can be hardwired into a home’s electrical system. Either way, it’s smart to have a backup power supply in case the electricity goes out during a storm. That way, the sump pump can keep running and removing water from the sump pit.

Thankfully, you do have a few sump pump backup options in case it fails. One option is a battery-powered backup sump pump. Another option is using a portable backup generator as a power supply for your sump pump. Unlike a battery-powered backup which has limited power, a generator can run around the clock for as long as you need it.

Or you can opt for a water-powered backup pump, which uses your home’s water supply as a source of power. However, this may not be the best option if you find your house frequently has low water pressure.

The difference between an ejector pump and a sump pump lies in their purpose and design—an ejector pump functions to remove liquid gray water and soft solid sewage waste from your home. If you have a laundry room or bathroom in your basement, an ejector pump for your sewage tank prevents sewage from backing up in your washing machine or bathroom’s drains.

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.

Sump pump repairs are typically handled by plumbers or waterproofing specialists who are experienced in handling basement and foundation-related issues. Plumbers can address issues like clogs, electrical problems, and mechanical failures, and waterproofing professionals may be ideal if the sump pump is part of a larger drainage or waterproofing system.

Some people may also call on a general handyperson for minor sump pump repairs. However, for complex problems, hiring a certified plumber or waterproofing expert ensures the work is done correctly and prevents further issues.

Every three to four months, you should clean any dirt and debris off of your sump pump. You should also check the inlet screen (at the bottom of the pump) to make sure that it isn’t blocked. On top of that, you should deep clean your sump pump once per year—or hire a sump pump pro to do it for you.
