"Carl and his crew refinished our current oak floor and laid new oak flooring in our entryway after tearing up the old tile. Both the refinish and the new flooring that was installed was top-notch. Carl completed it on time and the cost was reasonable. I would hire Carl again!"

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"Jimmie Ramey, the owner, is very professional & personable.  Needed daughter's bedroom re-carpeted before she got home from college.  We already had the carpet but needed a pad.  This was a small project.   Jimmie came out and gave us an estimate and said he could do the installation that Saturday morning, to help us out.   His crew showed up on time and I was pleasantly surprised that they took off their shoes upon entering the house.  Both men were professional and friendly.  Said the whole project should take about 1 hour.  They finished on time and did a outstanding job!  They picked up and removed all scraps and vacuumed.   We have another bedroom that will need to be done and will definitely use them again.  Jimmie said he could also provide us with carpet samples since we didn't have enough carpet left for that other bedroom project.  Very happy and satisfied with the installation.  Carpet looks great."

651-Carpets was AWESOME.

I first started looking at Lowes/Home Depot. I literally wasted 2 weeks with Lowes. It took them 1 week to come out and measure (cost $50, where they measured 1600 sq. ft.) and then it took 1 week for samples to come to my house. The samples that were sent were 4 in by 4 in!! I couldn't tell anything from that. We were able to pick out what type of carpet we wanted, but still needed to decide on a color, but when the estimate came back it was $6800. HOLY COW. There was no way we could afford that.

Then I saw an add or 651-Carpets in my mail -- they come to you with samples AND do a free measurement!! From the time I saw the add, to having them come/measure/picking out a carpet that I wanted, it was 48 hours!!

The salesman was a VERY good salesman. He knew everything about the types of carpet and which would be a good carpet for the house. He didn't try and sell me the most expensive option, but he tried to sell me what HE would want for HIS house. After we decided on a carpet, he ordered it the next day and it arrived within 1 week.

I scheduled the install for Thursday and the installation crew (Tony's crew) had a window of 8 - 10 to come. They called me at 8:01 and let me know they were on their way and would be there at 9. Two men showed up at 9 am and when I came back at 5:30, there were 4 men there. Tony's crew did the job in 1 day, having 6 men working at any given time in 1 day. They didn't finish until about 6:30 pm. The installation was great and the crew was so nice and professional.

The original estimate was a little more than 1350 sq ft,(look how much Lowes OVERESTIMATED) but they were short on carpet by 10 steps. So, the salesman ordered more carpet, and the installation crew came back within 4 days to finish the stairs. The stairs were beautiful!! Two men worked on the stairs for about 4 hours!

ALL in ALL the carpet and installation was perfect. I LOVE 651- and would recommend them to anyone!

Amazing and better than expected! Dealing with contractors is not always an enjoyable experience and we are happy to report that Minnesota Construction and Property Management was a treat to work with.

During the initial consultation, Trevor listened to our request to improve our outdoor living space and offered design solutions the other companies hadn't at a price that was more reasonable. It almost seemed too good to be true.

We were tentatively scheduled to begin work on the deck towards the end of May. Thanks to a mild winter and Trevor's excellent time management, they began working on our project at the end of March and finished within a week (and that includes the snow delay and a weekend off)!

We have the nicest deck in the neighborhood. The crew is polite, hard-working, and detail-oriented. They have pride in their carpentry skills and we are the beneficiaries of their amazing work.

Friends and family are impressed with what we received and are clamoring for Minnesota Construction and Property Management's contact information.

We would use them again and recommend them for your home improvement project!

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Start the first row of vinyl planks along the longest or most visible wall in the room. This will create a clean, straight foundation row to build off of. Snap a chalk line to guide the first row, and use spacers for the most precise installation—these maintain an even extension gap between the flooring planks and the wall. Finally, double-check that the first row is level before moving on to the second row. If it’s not, start over and get it right before completing the rest of the floor.

No, replacing flooring is considered a renovation. You're updating an existing feature without changing the layout or structure of the space. However, it can be a remodel if extensive work is needed to update the subflooring.

The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.

No subflooring is perfectly level, but you should never ignore any noticeable floor sagging. Most contractors deem a floor that slopes by a 1/2 inch to 1 inch per 20 feet of floor acceptable. Further investigation is required when the slope or sag is more than one and a half inches.

You might be wondering, “Is laminate flooring toxic?” The product does contain formaldehyde, which is found in the resins used to bind the wood fibers together. But the chance of overexposure and adverse reactions, such as allergy- or asthma-like symptoms, is low unless you are exposed to formaldehyde in other places, i.e., if you work with formaldehyde regularly outside the home. Keep in mind, too, that many household products have the potential to pose a health hazard, such as cleaning products.
