I always go by..."If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well". After researching window film products and vendors, I contracted with Mark Gjerde of Solar Shield in Savage, MN. Prior to my contracting for the work, Mark provided a full explanation for all of my questions and provided samples and research data on the options for the window/sunlight problems I was experiencing...mostly related to fading of furniture, rugs, artwork, photos. I settled on Huper Optik window film...which I had already researched and found to be an effective and high quality product. Mark and his crew and office staff were all great to work with and the completed work was top notch. I should have had the window film put on years ago. I will hire Mark/Solar Shield again...next project, my car windows.

The Company, staff and the owner Mark are awesome. The film is warranted for life and the film is great. We did have some issues with some windows streaking, but they were prompt in coming to check things out and there was no hassle about having the affected windows redone at no charge.
Description of Work
Had window film put on all of the windows (total of 40) in the house to cut down on the UV rays fading furniture and floors and to help keep in the keeping the house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Mark came out promptly to give me an estimate and overview of my options. The work was professional and of great quality. I had been on the fence about having a few extra windows done and they were flexible enough to add them for me.

I have used this company the last few times I needed window tinting on various vehicles I own. They are by far the best company I have used. I can get cheaper tint for tinting my work vehicles but it never looked "right". This time I wanted it done well and they did a flawless job. If you are willing to pay a fair price for excellent service and quality, look no further.

Great. Choosing the best film for our situation was tricky, and Randy could not have been more helpful. He came out twice and installed big test patches so we could live with them and compare. He spent quite a long time asking us about what features we wanted, and explaining the pros and cons of various options. The installers did a meticulous job. We're really happy with how it turned out. Should have done it years ago.

They were fast, professional and very knowledgeable about window tint and what it can do for your vehicle. I was so happy with the tint and how seamless it looks I want to take all my vehicles there. I highly recommend this business. Remember you may pay less somewhere else for cheaper tint film but in things like this you get what you pay for.

Standard tint color is what I was initially quoted on the phone. I wasn't prepared to have to make a decision on staying with original tint color or upgrading. I had a Facebook coupon which was applied and a reduced tint removal fee. The price break almost covered the upgraded tint I eventually decided upon. Without upgrade or discounts, the tint would have been over $300.00 anyway. I just think window tint in general is expensive.

Excellent! It was easy to discuss requirements and cost on the phone. They were able to scheduled installation within the week. The team who came to apply the tinting was professional and very good at their jobs. The product is working well and significantly cuts the heat from the south sun exposure while maintain light and visibility.

These guys made it easy. I gave them the window measurements and they gave me a bid right over the phone. We scheduled the work and they did it exactly when they said they would. I got a bid from another reputable company, but they were about 1/3rd higher in price. These guys use Vista products (#1 tint company in the USA). The other bidder used 3M products.

Great! They answered the phone on my first attempt at contacting them. I scheduled the service for that same week. They performed the work in three hours, which they informed me it would take. I waited to have it completed. I am very satisfied with their work. They were informative and professional. There is a warranty on the windows as well.

They were very responsive and informative to my call and questions, gave me a time and date for an appointment within the week, and confirmed the cost. I had to reschedule which was no problem for them. They fit me in a couple of days later. It was estimated that the job would take about 4 hours so we dropped my car off early one morning and picked it up the next day. The front desk personnel were very helpful explaining the procedure and recommending tint coverage. They did a beautiful job. My only minor complaint is that they did not call me when it was completed. I had to call them to make sure it was done before driving down to pick it up.

The project from start to finish was perfect! We had Charlie come out and give us an estimate on the windows that we requested to be tinted. His estimate came in well under cost of what other companies had told us. He gave us examples of tinting to review. We called the office to set up an install time. The wait for the install was only two weeks. The crew (Alex and Scott) came at the appointed time and promptly got to work. They were pleasant and informational. The cost was the same as the estimate. We are very pleased with the results.

The salesperson was very helpful. When I called they were able to schedule an appointment the very next day. The job was completed in two and a half hours. Solar Shield did an excellent job. In fact, it was perfect and looks as if the tinting was factory installed. The film was applied very smoothly with no bubbles or cloudy haze. I plan on taking all of my cars into Solar Shield to have the windows tinted. They are the best!

I emailed for a quote and heard right back by phone. I didn't call back for a while because I was busy, and they called again abouit a week later. I set up an appointment. Nate came on time and discussed the products and options in detail, measured the windows, made suggestions, calculated each room separately, and gave another quote if all the work was done at once. I scheduled the work for 2 weeks later. The two installers came on time, helped me finalize my choice of films, and then installed the film, taking care to clean up their mess. The film looks great. I had the work done because of excessive heat due to so many windows!! There was a lot of information and numbers about each film choice, and some are better for glare, others for heat transfer, all nearly eliminate UV radiation and help preserve interior furnishings. I am assuming this will, in fact, reduce the "oven effect" of my house, and I will update this review if I am disappointed in any way later.
