"We had a humidifier installed. They installed it quickly and professionally. The installer Jimmy was very helpful and even gave me a couple pointers in regards to installing a wifi thermostat. I've always had great experiences with Kath/Aquarius home services and will definitely use them again."

"The fence Hal built around my property in South Minneapolis is absolutely beautiful.  For the price listed, he removed my old, rusted chain link fence and installed a custom, hand-built fence around the entire back yard. Unlike other fence builders with whom I met, Hal makes the fence himself, piece-by-piece, and puts everything together on location.
Construction took a few weeks due to a thoroughly disappointing situation with the neighbors as well as very frequent rain, but Hal always returned my phone calls and kept me updated.  He also responded professionally and kindly to a last-minute change in design.  I simply love spending time in my new backyard!  I couldn?t be happier with the work Hal has done on my property."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Some outdoor lighting fixtures are easy to install, like solar pathway lights that don’t need connecting to your electrical system. However, other types of outdoor lighting can be challenging to install, especially if it’s part of a larger electrical system. It’s best to work with a trained electrician for high-voltage outdoor lighting. You might also want to work with a landscaper for installing lighting in high or hard-to-reach areas.

Flush mount or semi-flush mount fixtures are the best option for low ceilings. They closely hug or directly connect to the ceiling, offering ample room underneath so there won’t be a collision hazard when you’re walking through the room.

You don’t need to be an electrician to change a light bulb. You also don’t have to be an electrician to replace a light fixture with another compatible one. But, if you are installing a light fixture for the first time, it’s worth hiring a licensed professional for the job.

While a handyperson may charge a bit less, a qualified professional can make sure everything is up to code and working exactly as it should be. This is especially true for more complicated lighting projects.

Generally speaking, you can install one recessed light for every 4 to 6 square feet. A 12x12 room is 144 square feet, which would need 24 to 36 recessed lights. The wattage you use for the light bulbs and the height of your ceilings can also impact the number of recessed lights you need for a 12x12 room.

No, it's not hard to install a light fixture. If you have some electrical knowledge and a pre-wired installation location, it's possible to tackle it in an afternoon. Installing new wiring for the light fixture is best left to a professional electrician. Inept wiring can lead to a house fire or electrocution and invalidate your home insurance.
