"Jeremy showed up right on time. He cleaned the carpet so quietly and efficiently even our normally high strung dog didn't notice him much. He was up front about the things that could and couldn't be fixed and knowledgeable about cleaning carpet. We even had Pad Injection done at the site of a couple of really bad pet soiling areas. The whole house smells nice and clean now, and the carpets look great. There were a few spots that couldn't be gotten totally clean due to abuse on our part (really we should vacuum more often) but it looks fantastic. He took extra time at the end with his UV light to look for any remaining pet stains."

"The carpet on my steps was so filthy and dirty, but they got the steps looking like new. They did an amazing job. I have had other companies clean these steps before, and these guys cleaned them much better. They did a superior job. They will be the only ones I will use to clean my carpets. Their price is not more expensive than others, but their service rocks. Their people were really nice on the phone. They were spectacular. I give them a high recommendation because they were so good."

"We normally use Magic Touch house cleaning services, however I saw a groupon for Brilliantly Bright Cleaning and decided to try them out. The cleaner was on time and extremely nice. However, in my opinion, Brilliantly Bright Cleaning does not have a candle to Magic Touch. Same three hour service & same price but things that Brilliantly Bright did not get done that the other cleaners did: didn't clean the entry way at all; didn't clean the down stairs toilet; didn't vacuum the furniture; didn't clean visible cobwebs; didn't clean the wood stairs; didn't clean our sliding glass door and still found dust bunnies in the corners downstairs. And I don't like how they use your cleaning equipment/supplies. HOWEVER our kitchen was beautifully clean! All and all, I will stick with Magic Touch cleaners, hands down!"

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

No, house cleaners or cleaning services do not need to be certified or licensed. Each state has its own requirements for licensing and certifications for companies, but most states don't require any special training to clean a home. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local guidelines for house cleaners and cleaning services.

When cleaning upholstery, you want to avoid harsh scrubbing, oversaturating the fabric, and using the wrong kind of cleaner for the fabric you’re cleaning. Any of these can cause significant damage to the upholstery, including rips, stains, faded fabric, mildew, or discoloration. Be methodical and use a light touch when cleaning upholstered furniture to preserve the life and look of the upholstery.

You should aim to have your floors professionally deep cleaned once or twice per year. A deep clean service can remove set-in stains, clean grout between tiles, address water spots or discoloration on wood floors, and make your floors look new again. For households with children, pets, or severe allergies, consider increasing the frequency to four times per year (quarterly). It's also important to perform regular cleaning, such as vacuuming and mopping, in between professional services.

While not always necessary, daily vacuuming can be beneficial, especially in busy households with hairy pets or people with allergies. Just be aware that this frequent cleaning schedule increases flooring and appliance wear and tear. Use the appropriate setting and brushes to go easy on carpet fibers, and regularly maintain your vacuum to increase its life span.

Many household items neutralize the smell of urine, including fabric sprays and baking soda, a great odor absorber. Or try combining baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to cut through the smell. If these items don’t work to completely remove the smell of pet urine, try an enzymatic cleaner, which works to break down organic matter such as urine, and is readily available at most pet stores.
