Our 115-year old kitchen was in need of a total remodel due to age and other remodeling efforts that were done poorly in the past. The kitchen was gutted down to the studs which revealed structural problems that were caused by a previous remodel. Buck Brothers addressed this issue with flying colors and the lead carpenter was amazing in fixing the structural problem and all other aspects of rebuilding the kitchen. The cost of the project was higher than we anticipated but the final outcome was worth it and we definitely got our monies worth. It is hard to single out the most valuable sub-contractor; they were all top notch but I have to give special thanks to Tracy the project manager, Scott the carpenter, D&B Custom Woods ( beautiful cabinets and right on miter cuts), Paramount Granite (great quality and excellent installation). I must add that the electrician, plumber and heating contractors had their work cut out for them. The painters were meticulous, respectful, and very helpful with color selection and fun to work with. Dave was quickly able to determine that a replacement was necessary. Pricing was discussed, we obtained additional quotes, and ultimately decided to have Conners Plumbing & Heating complete the actual installation. Pros: Very professional and knowledgeable, respectful of your home (used shoe covers, covered carpeting when removing old heater and bringing the new one in), and easy to work with. Local company (Waseca, MN) with local staff (our installer, Dave, was from Owatonna). Cons: Priced higher than all other quotes that we obtained, and that was even AFTER receiving a 15% discount on the total cost. (We received a 15% discount due to the fact that we signed up for the \"Service Partner\" program). Also, the office staff indicated that our installer would be at our home at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the install but the actual arrival time was later than that because the installer had to obtain the permit and pick up the hot water heater prior coming to our home that morning. To summarize: Even though the cost was greater than all of the other quotes that we obtained, we still opted to utilize Conners Plumbing & Heating because they were knowledgeable, professional, and accommodating."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/mn/waseca/connors-plumbing-and-heating-inc-reviews-6261867.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Owatonna Heating & Cooling","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MN","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Steven S."},"reviewBody":"The compressor on our central air system failed and a new replacement was needed. We contacted Owatonna Heating and Cooling for a bid and Glen Hanson promptly came out that afternoon. He gathered information and promised he would be back later with replacement options. He returned with a proposal with two options and available rebate information. Installation could begin within 3 days.
Removal and installation of a Carrier and quot;Infinity Seriesand quot; 3 ton - 15 SEER system was accomplished all on one day as stated. The crew were very friendly and professional. The system was turned on after Ryan from Four Seasons Electric hooked up the system and a programmable thermostat. After the installation team was satisfied the system was operational and the site was cleaned up they announced they were leaving but another technician would be around within the hour. The technician arrived and inspected the installation and explained the system, thermostat operation and answered any questions we may have had.
The next day we met with Katie at the office regarding the billing and to our surprise she had all the rebate forms accomplished and ready for our signature. She also provided a product registration confirmation letter for the 10 year parts and labor warranty.
It was a pleasure from start to finish.

Maybe that happened sometime in the 1960's but not in this century. That company would not even come out and inspect the work we were being billed for. We called Mand M Heating, they came out at the time scheduled, estimated the work, ordered their supplies, came back at the scheduled time, removed the old furnace, installed new venting and the furnace, and charged a very reasonable price. Lower than the company that did not put in the new furnace but insisted on being paid for it. We used them to replace a outdated furnace in another home. Again, the work was flawless. It kept indicating that my Oldsmobile Cutlass was overheating but the car seemed to be running just fine. Wholesale tire said they give free estimates so we went there. They had us wait for 1.5 hours. After the wait, they said there was nothing wrong with my car, but who knows if they really looked at it? They had so so so many cars in their garage. Anyhow, they told me things that I did not understand about how it was illegal to have low profile tires on my car. I bought the car used a few years prior and when I had routine maintence done I was never told anything about this. But this man had my keys and would not give them to me unless I paid $45 first. I had $50 left for the whole week to buy food and gas for work. He made me pay $45 and there was nothing I could do about it. Had there been a problem with my car, I would have gone to them to fix it but after this visit I knew they were crooks. They did this service without my permission and I will never forget this visit. I cried after and I will never in my life go back to that place. I have told everyone I know about that place and want to spread the message. People who work hard for their money and depend on mechanics for help should never be taken advantage of. In some ways, a vehicle is directly related to livelyhood when you use it to take kids to school, get to work, appts, etc... That is why getting ripped off by Wholesale Tire is ethically wrong and I cannot erase it from my memory. FAQs for heating oil service projects in Mcgregor, MN
To buy heating oil for your house, contact local heating oil companies to compare prices and place an order once you decide on a supplier. The company will have to deliver your heating oil in a truck designed to carry and dispense heating oil safely. Call and order your heating oil early enough to have your oil delivered before you need to start using it for home heating.
On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.
You save money on heating oil in a few ways:
Make sure your home is well insulated and sealed against drafts and heat leakage.
Use a thermostat that’s working properly and calibrated accurately.
Program your thermostat to lower the heat when you’re not home.
Order heating oil during the off-season when prices are likely to be lower.
Summer months tend to be when heating oil prices are lowest because of decreased demand. Buying heating oil during the off-season also prepares you for when the weather gets cold, and you need to start using the oil to heat your home. Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.
Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
