Frontier Hardwood offers Installing, sanding, and refinishing of both hardwood floors and stairs. I have been in the hardwood business for 8 years now, and I'm a small self employed business so their is no dealing with many different people to get the job done! I have done everything from baisic install, sand, and finishing of floors to complicated design floors. I recently purchased some of the newest sanding equipment that has done of the best dust control out there. I really enjoy the work I do and in think the quality should always come first!

"Very well. There was a 2x2 hole that needed patched. We took wood boards from the entry (which weren't needed) to patch so it matched. Cody offered two different options to try and save me some money. I get compliments on the floors from everyone who sees them."

Hardwood Flooring questions, answered by experts

Vomit contains organic fluids along with whatever else comes out with it. When left without cleaning, vomit, and its odor can reach deep into carpet fibers and become very difficult to remove without a deep cleaning. In some cases, the combination can cause permanent carpet staining.

There are many types of carpet, but nylon carpet with short loops tends to be the most durable type as it resists stains and holds up against wear and fading. In terms of longevity, frieze or Berber carpet are also excellent choices that can last up to 20 to 25 years, which is longer than most other types of carpet.

To prep a floor for painting, start by sweeping and cleaning any loose debris that could puncture the protective material. Take out as much furniture as possible. Then lay plastic, canvas, rosin paper, or masonite sheets across the room, securing them at the edges with masking tape. Plan your painting so that you minimize the chances you’ll step in and track any splatters.

You can save money on labor costs by removing your old carpet before the professionals come in to install the new carpet. Just make sure to clear it with your contractor ahead of time. You might also be able to cut costs by buying carpet at certain times of year when it’s less expensive. These periods include late December to mid-January and late spring to early summer.

Outdoor kitchens get wet and are sometimes next to pools. To avoid accidents, go with a non-slip material like concrete, brick, or rubber. Avoid materials like ceramic and porcelain, as they are known to be quite slippery. Wood and composite flooring can be slippery if untreated, so make sure to stain or finish these materials.
