Timberwolf Hardwood Floors

My husband and I hired Timberwolf for the second time to refinish our entryway after discovering more hardwood underneath tile we ripped up. They refinished our living and dining room in September of 2021. Unfortunately, our second experience was not as good as the first. During the first job, five pockets of plywood were found underneath the old floors. They laced in new wood and it turned out great. In the entryway, we worked with Lance and there was another small pocket of plywood that we asked to be laced in. The entryway was not big, and Lance quoted it as an additional $400 if we had included it in the first job. They have a minimum quote they work with for jobs, but shaved off a little as we were a return customer. We paid $1,000, which is more than double if we had included it originally. Not their fault more hardwood was found, but we still paid a premium for this job. Per the attached picture, the entryway pocket was not laced in, but patched and with wood that does not match. I was extremely surprised when I first saw this, especially done without consulting us first. Lance explained during the first job they had access to other wood where they were able to lace in. He told me if I could find wood from that period and that size, he would re-lace it. 24 hours later I reached out that I was able to find some. I was then told it would be a lot of extra work and that "it is what it is." We then realized re-lacing was an empty promise. After multiple texts and calls to Lance with no response, I reached out to Timberwolf's main email. Mike (co-owner) who I worked with the first time, responded that he was unaware of the job. To our surprise, we were never on the books and this was done as a side job. I guess the co-owners are not aligned. Mike also refused to remedy the situation. The patch is an eyesore. The grout was done quickly, sloppily and does not match. We now have to have that redone. I’ve reached out to other companies for their opinion, and the wood should have been laced in. This was what was originally promised and unfortunately, not delivered. We’re disappointed – with the work, but also with their lack of follow-through after the fact. I would take your business elsewhere.

The owner came out and discussed several options, he explained each option throughly. The day the floors were to be done, Austin And Tyler showed up at the time requested. We hired Timberwolf in 2017 when we renovated the main level of our home. We had added a sunroom and wanted to add hardwood flooring to that addition plus some previously carpeted areas. Lance & Craig seamlessly tied in the new flooring to the existing & updated the stain color. The result was beautiful! In early 2020, the water line to our refrigerator burst and some of our floors were damaged. After the restoration company tore up some of the flooring and dried everything out there was no question in our minds that we would call Timberwolf. They just completed the work and you would never know the floors had been damaged. We highly recommend them!

Lance came out the week before Thanksgiving to buff and coat my floor. About a week or so later, while washing my floors, I noticed that my floor was peeling. I could actually peel the finish off my floors! I sent a picture of the peeling to Jordan and he was very displeased. He said that something was not done right and he would send Lance out again to redo the floors. Lance came out a second time and did the floors. However, he left a puddle of finish and several drops of it right in front of my refrigerator which dried that way. A couple months had passed and I noticed that the edges of the boards looked like they were fading and my nephew spilled cola on the floor and when I wiped it up, it left a stain. Since then several spots have appeared on my floor with spills. This never happened before they came out to my home. When I went to contact them again about the spots, Jordan was no longer there and it was only Lance answering my message. I wanted him to come out and tell us what needed to be done to fix the problem and this was his response via text: " Honestly, I don't want to have anything to do with your floor. All I did was buff and coat your floor 2 times with bona mega satin finish which is one of the best on the market. You will not get the **** stains out of your wood floor without replacing the boards. Have a professional wood floor guy come out and give you an estimate and get it done. I buffed and coated your floor, that's it. I didn't **** on ur floor, I promise. Nor did I contaminate your floor so that months after I left black spots would appear. I'm sorry but I'm not interested in your hardwood flooring project." Really?? His advise to me was to get a professional hardwood guy to come out and give me an estimate? Very unprofessional, very disrespectful and very poor services. I saw that they have a groupon out there. DON"T DO IT, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!
