Dillabaugh's Flooring America
About us
When Cal Dillabaugh started Dillabaugh’s Flooring America in 1982 he did not have any aspirations to become anything more than a means to provide a living for him and his family. He founded the business based on the belief to “treat others as you yourself would want to be treated”. Starting a business out of a small showroom on a street corner in Nampa, Idaho, Cal knew that if he didn’t handle concerns quickly and efficiently, that the business would fail.

"We certainly appreciate your frustration. As we stated we are more than happy to come back and have the corrections made to the installation, which it looks like are scheduled to be finished on the 18th. We always stand behind our work. As far as the base, the installation of your base was done by a contractor other than Dillabaugh's. To ask us to take responsibility for it is unfair and unfounded. It seems the easy solution would be to reach back out to the finish guy who installed it and have him re-install it correctly. Our carpet guys are professionals at installing carpet and when mistakes are made, correct it, as we will be doing on the 18th. Even if our installer had called us to tell us the base was too high, the direction would be to have him to finish the install so the house wasn’t left unfinished. Then we would have called you to let you know you need to have your finish guy drop your baseboards for you. Thanks for the opportunity for us to get eyes on the issue and remedy that which is our responsibility and trust that you can line up your finish guy to appropriately correct your base issues."
In the end, we discussed the final bill with the store manager, feeling our extreme patience with the project was deserving of a reduction in the bill. We did not expect to have this job done for free. Installation costs accounted for approximately 17% of our total invoice; we felt a reduction somewhere near this percentage would have been fair. The store manager offered what amounted to a 2.5% reduction of the total invoice, with the owner doubling the amount to 5% as a “favor”.
Was this job eventually completed as we envisioned when signing the contract? Yes, but the disruption to our household, lost income due to missed work, and the rearranging of schedules to be available to let installers back into our home was not valued. After this experience, we realized that Dillabaugh’s was more concerned with minimizing their financial loss than customer satisfaction. We will not use them for future projects.
Job went perfectly. Showed up on time, removed carpet, baseboards, floated basement where necessary. Installed LVT on point, including stairs. Looks great!
I would highly recommend Mike to anyone. He went above and beyond in all aspects of this project, including hauling off trash from another contractor.
We LOVE our new kitchen, the cabinets, countertops and pantry are even better than we had hoped for.
When we arrived at the house after the counter tops were installed the plug ins were not attached and were hanging from wires. It was just not a professional endeavor.
There are a lot of really good companies out there that provide these types of services. Do yourself a favor and chose one of them.
"[removed member name], I want to thank you for your review. Further, I want to thank you for fielding our sales professional's phone call inquiring about your dissatisfaction. One thing we constantly strive for is clear communication and it appears that, during the process of your project, we didn't live up to our end of the bargain. Please accept our apologies. If there's anything further that we can be of assistance with, or if you have any other concerns, please don't be a stranger. We appreciate you choosing Dillabaugh's. And again, our apologies for not meeting your expectations on your project. Sincerely, Casey Dillabaugh"
"(member name removed), Please accept our deepest apologies for the experience you had with our warehouse staff. This is absolutely not the way that we train to handle our clients and we dropped the ball in handling your concern with the dignity and respect you deserved. I will be having a conversation with our warehouse staff so they have a better understanding of service and that others don't have the same experience you did. Again, our apologies, (member name removed), for the experience you had. Sincerely, Casey Dillabaugh"
