Small jobs welcome

"Dyle and Ryan did some outstanding work on a complex install. The system included a NuVo Essentia (6 zone system), T2 tuner, ipod dock and cable music channels and over 3000 feet of cable, cat5e and speaker wire. Ryan went above and beyond to pull first floor ceiling speaker wire past/through some extremely challenging obstacles. Dyle communicated well, was prompt and followed up well as we worked through the details of the install. They were both extremely flexible as I did some of the easier 1st floor work myself. The sound system is great & I highly recommend their work! Sincerely, Paul Stone"

Customers say: Quality work

"I'm not a big fan of Contractors working in my home and taking long phone calls when on the clock working for me. I do feel that three Contractors working at the same time should have been able to install two ceiling fans, install one outlet, and switch a light when all are existing fixtures. I was not comfortable with that as it took two hours when it shouldn't have. Thanks."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

If you’re replacing an old fixture with a ceiling fan, you usually won’t need a permit, but if your electrician runs new wiring for the fixture, you likely will need a permit. Building permits are necessary in most municipalities if you’re making changes to your electrical system, so even if you have partial wiring run to the area and need new wiring installed for added functionality, you’ll probably need a permit. Your electrician should be able to let you know if you need one, and they’ll typically file the paperwork for you.

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.

Yes, ceiling fans come with a few other features that help with function, style, and convenience. Multi-speed fans can give you specialized control over the airflow. Consider getting one with an integrated light to save ceiling space. Some ceiling fans come with a remote control that enables you to change direction without climbing a ladder. Of course, you can also consider installing a wall switch to enjoy that convenience.

There are many types of ceiling fans, from self-automated smart ceiling fans to outdoor ceiling fans that provide additional comfort to your patio. What you choose all comes down to function and personal taste.

Consider your ceiling height when selecting a ceiling fan. Rooms with ceilings under eight feet high will do well with low-profile ceiling fans, also known as flush-mount or hugger ceiling fans. If your home has cathedral ceilings or ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, you’ll need a large ceiling fan with a heavy-duty motor to get adequate air circulation.
