Small jobs welcome

"Poncho and his wife are amazing people! Very down to earth and did a wonderful job on our ceilings! They were always on time and kept me updated throughout the entire process. Very hard workers and I would hire them again in a heartbeat."

"Leon, Shana, and Leon’s brother removed popcorn from the ceilings in several rooms and hallways and painted several rooms. They did an excellent job and the rooms looked great when they finished. I am hiring them to paint and remove popcorn from ceiling in two remaining rooms. They are very pleasant, hard-working, reasonably priced, and trustworthy. One couldn’t ask for more. I highly recommend them."

"I was really happy with Justin and his team. For me this was a big job and involved a lot of money and a lot of moving parts. The ceiling texturing had been poorly done so removal was not as simple as scraping popcorn ceilings. The house had many different dark colored walls so the painting over them was not a simple task either. Justin is very meticulous and thorough and his crew is polite and determined to get everything just right. I can recommend them without any hesitation whatsoever."

"The job went well. They really did a great job. They repainted the entire master bedroom, master bathroom, and the ceiling for the downstairs family room. It all looks brand new again after the water damage. They offered quality work at low cost prices."

"Tom came out to bid on our project on May 22, 2014.  He was very thorough in explaining how much and what type of paint would be needed.  He was reasonable and fair with his estimate.  He came to our home on June 20th and prepped the entire area first. He asked us to come into the home to see the prep work.  Once we approved, he then started spraying all the ceilings.  As he was working, he asked us to come back in to see the difference between the newly painted area and the old.  Remarkable difference.  He sprayed the textured ceilings twice with primer/paint.  He did a nice job cleaning up.  Very personable and nice to work with.  I would recommend him.

"Levell and crew have done several jobs for us now. They finished our basement adding 4 bedrooms and a bath. They also had to put in 2 egress windows. The last time they did work for us they did kitchen and bathroom backsplashes and installed some flooring on our stairwell. Would highly recommend and will hire again"

The guys that did the work were on time and fast.  We even decided that we wanted them to build a shower pan for us in the bathroom. Ben did quoted us another $275.00 that we thought was a good price and they completed that at the same time we had the basement and bedroom work done.

One thing that did happen is it did take an extra day for the bedroom ceiling to get sprayed and the sanding to get done from the original quote of 4 days, but as with all house renovations it is hard to gage perfectly when things can get done.  Ben did tell me that it might happen the week before so I was prepared for it.

I would recommend them to anyone for anything very friendly, knowledgeable, professional, reasonably priced, punctual and great work.

"The estimator was very knowledgeable and explained his products and services very well.  He provided a detailed plan and estimate.
The installation was done all in one day - including removal of the old counter top and the installation of the new counter top - and it was done on the pre-scheduled day.  Sears was excellent at accommodating our scheduling restrictions.  The new counter top looks nice and we are very happy with the result.
There were a few glitches - the garbage disposal leaked and needed service, and it was tough to get an updated estimate when we made a mid-stream change - but we were still very happy with the result.
Note that the Sears office that we dealt with is in Sharon Hill PA, not in Windsor Mill MA as listed by Angie's List, and the corporate headquarters is in Longwood FL.

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

While you should consult with a ceiling professional for larger cracks, especially if you’re not sure what’s causing your ceiling to crack, you can certainly try to repair small cracks on your own. If you’re up for the task, here’s how to repair ceiling cracks for $150 or less.

In most cases, it is worth removing popcorn ceilings because they are considered outdated and can make a home more difficult to sell. Buyers typically prefer a smooth, modern finish, so removing the texture can increase a home's value and appeal. The necessity can sometimes depend on the housing market; in a competitive market, buyers may be more willing to overlook minor renovations. The most critical factor is the potential presence of asbestos, which is common in older popcorn ceilings and poses a significant health hazard if the material deteriorates. If you know your ceiling contains asbestos, you are required to disclose this when selling, which can be a major deterrent for buyers. In this situation, it is highly recommended to have a professional remove or encapsulate the ceiling to resolve the issue before it impacts the sale.

Some pros may recommend covering a popcorn ceiling that tests positive for asbestos with beadboard ceiling planks or drywall. The cost to install a beadboard ceiling averages more than $5,000, but you likely will pay more than the average for the installer to deal with the asbestos safely. Installing a beadboard ceiling or new drywall will disturb the asbestos and release some microscopic fibers, so the installer will need to take precautions.

Yes. Sagging ceilings often indicate more severe problems, such as structural damage, roof leaks, and pest infestations. As the sagging expands, your ceiling may eventually collapse, posing a threat to your physical safety and leading to expensive repair and restoration costs. That’s why you need to fix sagging ceilings as soon as you notice them.

Soundproofing enhances privacy, reduces ambient and external noise for improved concentration, and creates a more comfortable living environment, especially in noisy neighborhoods or busy households. Additionally, it can improve the audio quality in spaces like home theaters.
