Polymer coatings are very durable and cost efficient but take a lot of knowledge and experience to use them and apply them correctly. Through the years we have continued to educate ourselves and have been certified in many manufactures products and application techniques. There are a few different types of finishes to choose from for the final step of the project.

You can paint concrete with paint rollers. In fact, using paint rollers is considered one of the easiest ways to evenly apply paint on concrete. A paint roller with a 1/2- to 3/4-inch-thick nap—which is basically a fabric paint roller cover—is best for painting concrete. The thicker the nap, the more paint it can hold to fill those pesky concrete cracks and crevices.

In most cases, you are good to stamp the concrete one or two hours after you pour it, but perform the thumb test mentioned above. You want the concrete to be dry enough so the stamps don’t sink, but wet enough that the stamps make a successful imprint. In general, this is a tricky question, as it also depends on the weather outside, the time of day, and the size of the poured concrete slab.

Weighing the pros and cons of stamped concrete can help you decide if spending the higher upfront cost is worth it for your concrete project. One of the most sought-after benefits of stamped concrete is the customization aspect—you get to choose the color, borders, and intricate patterns. Additionally, stamped concrete is a more affordable option than pavers or brick. 

On the other hand, stamped concrete needs to be resealed every two to three years and costs more than regular concrete to install. And unless you’re a DIY pro, this is not a project to tackle on your own.

Generally speaking, adding concrete landscaping features will cause your property taxes to increase. That’s because projects that involve a permanent concrete foundation require permits and permanently improve the land. Since taxes are based on improvements, your taxes will go up. Here are some projects that will likely have an impact on your taxes:
