"Kerry and Adam, were great to work with. They always called back with any questions we had and were very pleasant. We had hail twice in one year August and October. Our insurance was really difficult to work with, They didn’t want to pay. They worked really hard with our insurance company sending pictures and answering any questions they had. We got a new roof and siding with their help, which looks great. They also helped my parents get a new roof which the insurance didn’t wanna pay for. They also helped a friend of mine get a new roof also siding, her insurance told her she didn’t need a new roof, but the funny thing was everyone around her needed a new roof, she was so thankful for the guys helping her out. The crews that work for them, that did our siding and roof and windows were all very pleasant and they also did a great job cleaning up."

You can put new siding over clapboards, but it’s not recommended. Some sidings, like vinyl siding, can go over clapboards with sheathing like a foam layer in between. The biggest con of insulated vinyl siding is that it’s more expensive than traditional vinyl siding. If you’re hoping to save costs on your siding project, you’ll have better luck finding budget-friendly vinyl siding, which can cost as little as $2 per square foot, installed.

A quality paint job on aluminum siding can last five to 10 years, depending on the climate, the paint quality, and how well the surface was prepared before painting. Regular maintenance, like cleaning and occasional touch-ups, can help extend the life of the paint.

When it comes to fiber cement siding maintenance, it’s not too much work. However, it needs to be painted about every 15 years and may need to be re-caulked to prevent mold. Be sure to also wash your fiber cement siding with a lower-powered garden hose at least twice a year to avoid buildup and fading as well.

While almost nothing is completely fireproof, metal siding is extremely fire-resistant. It’s non-combustible so while it may eventually melt in extreme temperatures, it won’t actually light on fire itself.
