Small jobs welcome

"We had a great experience with FiNest. They responded quickly to our request for a quote. We liked their online process and documentation of the work to be done. Their pricing was very reasonable. Dan was great to work with and did an excellent job on the repairs. We would highly recommend FiNest for anyone needing handyman services."

"The installer called me before the job to make sure that he knew what vehicle to look for and where it would be parked. I told him that both the original windshield and the first replacement had not sealed properly and howled when I drove on the highway against high winds. He was on time and called me when the work was complete to come and check it out. He was friendly and asked if I had any questions. He must have done a good job because I have not had a howling windshield since.

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."

Dexpert Design & Build, MN BC#771168.\n\nWhen your looking for custom and a cut above, look no further. We are the composite deck specialists of the north metro area. We use innovative products and techniques to give our clients the highest level of craftsmanship and long-term performance they can hope to receive when hiring a deck builder. Anyone can make a deck look good from afar and seem to perform how it should on the surface but very few companies go the extra mile to make them immaculate up close and perform at its best. The products being installed on maintenance-free decks are warrantied anywhere from 20 to 75 years, those warranties mean nothing when the frame its attached to has no special provisions to ensure it will maintain its integrity for years to come. Without special provisions to the framing details of a deck project the frame is almost certain to defect prematurely in comparison to the life expectancy of all the products installed over it. "it's not a question of if the products are going to stand up to their warranty periods, its a matter of the frame making it that long". -We used to do many maintenance-free deck-resurfacing projects every year (and still will depending on the age and condition of the frame) and with disassembling aged-decks you learn their weaknesses and points of failure over time. It is our job to ensure that the project you are affording is a "buy once, cry once" situation. -With all that being said we still bid our projects competitively, we will define all the special details we implement and options available to you with your project in the bids you will receive. We take great pride in what sets us apart from the competition and hope to make you see the value in what we provide our client's with over any other company you could hope to hire. \n\n*Discounts Available* (Note that the discounts solely apply to the cost of labor)\n5% Seniors and Veterans Discount\n5%-10% Advertising Discount (call for details)\n5% Referral Credit

"Sean was pleasant, had reviewed photos sent to him and had done some research specific to hardware needed. He took his time, was careful not to damage casement, and took a look at a couple other things (giving free advice when could have offered repair for a price). Recommend and would hire again."

"Paul and his partner were great to work with, they arrived at exactly the time agreed upon and worked tirelssly, no breaks moving quickly from one project to the next for 5 straight hours. Although DIY home repairs is not their primary work (carpentry) they took it all on and completed more than I expected to get done in this period of time.
They were completely professional, did quality work and were easy to work with. Paul was very open about not doing work he was not licensed for - plumbing and electrical, but provided advice on how work could be done.
I will use Paul and his team again and would highly recommend him to others!

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

Adding a window to a brick house costs $3,100 to $10,575. Because you’ll need to make changes to the structure of the home, the cost will include obtaining permits and hiring the best pros for this complex job. Larger windows will cost more to install, and the cost can vary based on the window frame material you choose.

Yes, a variety of screen materials cut out glare from the sun. Solar screen material can block up to 90% of the glare and heat from the sun, saving on cooling costs. It also offers privacy yet unlimited outward visibility. The cost depends on the size of the screen roll, but solar screens cost between $25 and $90 per roll.

The steps to replace a retractable screen can vary, but these are the general steps: First, remove the screen cover to expose the screen mechanism and remove the clip that holds the screen in place. Next, depress the end of the screen mechanism so it releases from the door frame. Take your new screen and fit one end into the frame. You may need to rotate the mechanism to engage the spring before inserting the other end into the frame. Finally, pull the screen down the length of the door’s opening and lock it in place with the clip.

There are a number of ways to secure windows. You can add motion detectors or window sensors to detect movement and impact or change the window locks to make them stronger. Some of the ways you can secure windows are much like how you secure a home: closing the curtains at night and setting up security cameras outside so you can monitor your property even in your absence.

The most affordable way to screen in a porch is to add a base track system to an existing wooden frame. The whole process should cost around $2,000 for supplies, depending on the size of your porch. It’s much pricier to build a screened-in porch or sunroom from scratch—and you’ll probably need to hire a contractor for a project like that.
