"I contacted JB's Wood Floor Maintenance for refinishing some worn hardwood floors in my house. John got back to me quick and was very helpful laying out a rough estimate over the phone as well as scheduling an in home estimate. During the estimate John was very thorough and I was impressed about how forthwith he was about the different options for finishes, what the prices were, and the features of each type of finish. I got onto the schedule quickly and his crew showed up at the agreed upon time. During the sanding process there was no dust that was kicked up in the other living areas. There was also no dust left after the end of the project. I originally wanted to go with a lighter finish for my floors, and his crew applied two samples on the sanded floor so I could see the difference in person. The finished product looks amazing and there wasn't a spec of dust anywhere."

"Illi Hardwood was hired to totally refinish the wood floor in our entryway, our kitchen, and our dining area. They did an absolute fantastic job. Dave gave us an accurate estimate for their services, which was the final bill. They arrived promptly when scheduled and completed the project in the time stated. Illi has the latest equipment for sanding and refinishing wood floors including an excellent dust recovery system. They removed the old finish and stain from the wood floor using a variety of sanders with multiple trips and we ended up with no dust in our house. The sanding was done to perfection with no ridges, cuts or chatter marks in the floor and with the floor exceptional even with no waves. They edged right to the shoe molding and hand scraped the areas the equipment would not reach. They accurately matched the stain we needed and then finished it perfectly. Our floor looks better today than it did when originally installed over 25 years ago. We would use them again in a minute and would highly recommend them."

"Bill Bishman is a nice guy.  I wanted 2 bedrooms and the connecting hallway sanded, stained and finished.  I also wanted the living room and dining room floors refinished (not sanded or stained, he buffed them and applied a new coat of polyurethane). Overall he did an ok job. He was a little on the messy side. I noticed a large splotch of stain on the inside of a closet door, many stain splotches on the white base boards in the bedrooms, a large smudge of stain on a white doorway, and many large splotches in the bottom of the cold air return. I pointed them out to Bill and he did clean them up as best as he could.  Once the polyurethane was dried, I noticed a few areas where there were drips that weren't worked in and now look like there are drops of water on the floor. There is a 5" or so long scratch in the polyurethane from a piece of tape that was left on the bottom of a door. I was also not happy with the match of the stain in the bedrooms and hallway to the existing stain in the living room and dining room. 
In the end the floors look really nice, "gleaming" one would say, I just have higher expectations.

"It has been several years since Floors by Dave installed hardwood in my kitchen, so this review is a little out of date. However, it also means I have lived with the floors since then, so it may have more value to you. Floors by Dave needed to match the existing
60-year old quarter-sawn red oak already throughout the house, and it's a perfect match. That involves considering the width of the boards, the grain and the natural color of the wood before it's stained. (Note: unless you want to refinish all of the existing flooring, there will be a slight difference between the old and new until the stain fully matches the existing hardwood.)
I was actually living out of town when the work was done but it was done when promised and didn't take any longer than expected. Every decision was made over the phone and I had to take a little leap of faith. There were no unexpected expenses either. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with the quality and appearance of the floors. All of the details, like how the floors are trimmed at the walls and the transition between kitchen and dining room are exactly as I would have wanted (if I had actually thought to request it.) And they have held up perfectly even in the imperfect environment of a kitchen where liquids and food get all over. They are easy to clean and look about as good as they did 3-1/2 years ago.
I would have no hesitation recommending Floors by Dave to anyone looking for top-notch work. They probably aren't the cheapest, but it's worth every penny."
