"Their design pro, Dylan, knew more than the three reps I spoke to previously put together. I have an old house with a basement in bad shape. One other company I spoke to had a plan that I didn't like; the two others just said they could not fix it. American Waterworks has a system that made sense to me, and was less expensive. They are working on it right now, and have been great! Prompt, courteous, hard-working, and estimating they will be done a day early."

"I am very happy with the sidewalk leveling. The team returned to clean up an area that had "remaining" foam. They were very willing to make sure I was satisfied."

"Water proofing very good results. BUT Caution regarding floor repair from ANY contractor. Make sure you discuss what the floor repair will look like. Mine is not level, and Much rougher Than original floor. Another contractor said it was better than He typically sees. This was done several years ago. Sorry about the late review."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"After a bit of research and some personal referrals I selected Fair & Square to complete a bathroom remodel for me. This included installing a new tub, shower, vanity, fixtures and lots of tile work. I went with a look that included tile on both the floors and walls and couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the work that was done for me. The craftsmanship in the tile work is extraordinary and I really feel like I have a unique look that fits my home and personality just perfectly. I may have been able to find someone to complete this remodel for less money but I doubt they'd be able to match the level of quality I got using Fair & Square. I even got a a check back from them for the unused portion of the contingency fees they charge for unexpected costs outside of their normal estimate!

"Roger and his team did a beautiful job on our project. It is hard to tell where the addition is versus the existing 100+ year old house. They matched trim and finishes and gave us a much more live-able space."

One starting point to find a local home builder is to collect suggestions from friends and neighbors. However, it’s still wise to do some more research before you hire a builder. Read reviews to supplement any word-of-mouth recommendations. Check sources like Angi that have standards and criteria in place to screen the pros it lists can also help you find more reputable local home builders.
Typically, it’s more affordable to buy an existing home than it is to build a new one. New construction loan interest rates tend to be higher than interest rates for traditional mortgages. Additionally, the cost of materials is likely higher when building a new home than it was when an existing home was built (unless it’s a very new one). You’re also paying for all new appliances, finishes, permits, inspections, and connections for water, gas, and electricity.
The most common first signs of foundation issues include:
Cracks in the foundation walls that grow
Signs of moisture or water leaking through cracks in the foundation
Standing water in the basement
Sagging floors or walls
Cracked walls in upper floors
Doors and windows that don’t close properly anymore
Foundation repairs cost about $5,000, on average. Typically, prices range from $2,200 to $7,800, depending on the type and extent of repairs needed. Cost factors include foundation type, home size, soil stability, accessibility, and the ultimate cause of the problem and what methods and materials are required to fix it.
If you’re noticing signs of foundation issues, the first step to fixing a foundation problem is to hire a foundation repair inspector. They will determine the problem, the cause, and the severity before recommending a course of action to repair the foundation. The method for fixing foundation problems depends on the problem and what options are available. A few possible solutions include:
Epoxy injections
Mudjacking
Piers made of steel or concrete
Jacks
Hydraulic piers
Carbon or steel reinforcement strips
Waterproofing materials
