"Chris and Mike did an excellent job! Our sidewalk was sinking 2-3 inches in spots. They explained exactly how the process works. Started the job on time and was very professional. I'm impressed with how well it turned out. Our sidewalk is now level. Thank you!"

"They did great. The entire surface was level and free from tripping hazards. It is important to have them seal the cracks because there will be water from snow melt and the concrete will move. This will get you the 5 yr warrantee just in case."

"Water proofing very good results. BUT Caution regarding floor repair from ANY contractor. Make sure you discuss what the floor repair will look like. Mine is not level, and Much rougher Than original floor. Another contractor said it was better than He typically sees. This was done several years ago. Sorry about the late review."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Professionals in Bloomington define a concrete leveling project's scope by evaluating local conditions. They analyze the expansive clay soil, assess drainage patterns from Minnesota's heavy snowmelt, and consider the 42-inch frost line. They also map settlement patterns and check for interconnected slabs to understand how sections move together, ensuring a comprehensive and lasting repair that complies with city codes.

Helpful?

In Bloomington, your input is key for a concrete leveling project. You'll need to decide between mudjacking and polyurethane foam injection, based on cure times and your needs. You also determine the project's scope by prioritizing areas like driveways or patios. Finally, you'll coordinate on clearing the work area and addressing any underlying drainage issues that contribute to settling in the first place.

Helpful?

For concrete leveling in MN, precision is crucial due to the climate. Errors in timing, like injecting polyurethane foam below 40°F, can cause failure. Shortcuts in soil preparation, such as inadequately filling voids in the clay soil, will lead to re-settling. Incorrect injection pressure can crack the concrete, while failing to address underlying drainage issues means the problem will likely return.

Helpful?

As a Bloomington home ages, concrete leveling needs evolve. In the first 5-10 years, you may see minor settling in high-traffic areas. By 10-20 years, settlement often expands, affecting property drainage. After 20 years, some slabs may be beyond repair, requiring replacement and comprehensive drainage solutions. Minnesota's freeze-thaw cycles and mature tree roots can accelerate this entire process.

Helpful?

In a typical Bloomington home, concrete leveling solves problems caused by the region's climate and soil. It corrects dangerous trip hazards on walkways and eliminates uneven surfaces where ice accumulates in winter. It also addresses water pooling near your foundation by restoring proper drainage, which is critical for managing issues caused by Bloomington's expansive clay soils and seasonal freeze-thaw cycles.
