"From the initial estimate to the final cleanup, I could not be happier with my decision to hire Stangle Stumps. Absolutely phenomenal work, and EXTREMELY polite. The amount of work done for a very fair price was something that I have not seen recently. I truly would like to always use local, small businesses, and this is one of the best. Again, fair, honest, integrity and most importantly, a phenomenal work ethic."

"Miller and his colleagues were able to do a lot of things quickly. Along with everything else, they also grabbed some old furniture that I needed help moving to the curb. They took several cares to make sure nothing was damaged during the move, including wrapping the furniture, turning off all the lights, and packaging the picture frames."

Hauling questions, answered by experts

Not every, but many, states classify fluorescent tubes and CFL light bulbs as hazardous waste that need to be disposed of in a specified manner. California defines its list of hazardous fluorescent tubes as follows:

  • Fluorescent tubes, including low mercury tubes.

  • Compact fluorescents, including low mercury lamps

  • Metal halide lamps, such as floodlights for  large indoor and outdoor areas and gymnasiums

  • Sodium lamps, such as those sometimes used as security lighting and outdoor floodlights

  • Mercury vapor lamps, such as those sometimes used for street lighting

Pouring chemicals down the sink or toilet is a bad idea. In large amounts, they can damage plumbing and septic system. Tossing them in the trash can cause leaks, harmful fumes, and other problems, too.

Pouring chemicals onto the ground or nearby storm drains is also not recommended. Toxic chemicals can leak into nearby plants, lawns, or even water sources. It’s also illegal to pour out certain substances like used motor oil. Instead, schedule a trip to a local dropoff site for household hazardous wastes. Most local government websites can give you information on where to dispose of these substances.

Simple hand clearing is possible on a small scale, but substantial work requires professionals to properly use heavy machinery and execute it precisely.

While temporarily inconvenient, repiping a house is not super invasive. Depending on the size of your home, the project can take a few days to a week. During that time, plumbers may turn your water off here and there, but you won’t be without water the whole time. If you’re worried about living in your home during this renovation, you can always stay with friends or family or book a hotel room.

No, you can’t throw your trash in any dumpster you come across—in fact, that’s considered illegal dumping, and you could be fined for it. Use your own household trash cans, and rent a dumpster for a large volume of waste. Alternatively, take it to the landfill yourself or hire a trash hauling service.
