"TrueCoats LLC was absolutely the best for my job I needed done. Repair holes left from putting in ceiling fans, fixed a crack in one of my ceilings. They were polite and very thorough. The put plastic every where, they had to sand, and when they left I didn't even have to clean a counter. There was no dust anywhere. The work , was amazing, the boss was very careful while inspecting the work, making sure everything was perfect and it was. They really could not have done it better . I should mention I interviewed 4 different companies I selected after extensive checking online for the best companies in the Plymouth area. From start to finish the company performed extremely well in every aspect of the process. Ryan, the company contact who came out to review and estimate the job, took the time to really look at the details of what was needed. For example, we had some discussion around the best way to paint around the gutters, after which we agreed they would wrap the gutters to keep paint off of them. The company provided a long list of references, of which I actually called 6 and discussed their experiences with the company. All gave glowing reports, and from their comments I could tell they were not plants for the company. Ryan and the crew were always on time and very businesslike. The painting crew chief had 14 years of experience with the company and it showed. They power cleaned the house one day, and did the painting, deck repair, and staining/sealing in two. There were no surprises with additional charges. The estimate was exactly what I paid. I do not enjoy dealing with the skilled trades because so many are less than great, and sometimes worse. Woodbrook is a refreshing difference from those kinds of service providers."

I am finding more and more spots where they have paint drips, chunks, over spray and spots where they look like they were running out of paint. Most of these spots you can’t see unless you have the lighting just right. Which thankfully you can’t see otherwise. But moving furniture and moving my floor lamps is how I noticed these issues 6 months after the fact. As a new homeowner you live and learn…I will make sure to use a fine toothed comb on anyone I hire from now on."

"We hired Clean Cut Painting for a $20K job based on their quick quote and no deposit. While work started fast, the experience went downhill. There were surprise charges, and key items like door handles and outlet covers were removed but never reinstalled. Paint was left on floors, tile, and even on our carpet. When I brought up the carpet damage, Matt said, ?It needed to be replaced anyway??even though we had told him it wouldn?t be. Wall hardware and mirrors were removed with permission, but instead of being reinstalled, everything was tossed in the garage and mixed with trash. On the final Saturday, Matt worked briefly and left his crew to finish. I watched them rush cleanup the moment he left, leaving a mess. I later told Matt he should?ve told his crew he?d be back to inspect?it might?ve led to a better outcome. While I appreciated the fast start and no deposit, the lack of professionalism, poor finish, and dismissive responses mean I wouldn?t hire them again."

When you’re considering hiring a painter, a quote should include the following items:

You may need to provide your own paint, depending on the agreement you make with the painter. Some painters prefer that you buy the paint and they supply the labor. However, some professional painters get a better price on paint and can pass that savings along to you even after accounting for labor costs.
The average cost to paint a ceiling ranges from $3 to $8.50 per square foot, which is about $1 to $2.50 more per square foot than the cost to paint the walls. Rooms with high ceilings require working from a ladder or scaffolding and often include trim or detail work, which adds to the final price.
Professional painters charge $20 to $50 per hour, on average. Hourly rate cost factors include the complexity of the paint job, the type of paint, the height of the walls and ceiling, and the type of prep and repairs needed. For example, removing wallpaper costs an additional $3 per square foot because it can be very time consuming and labor intensive. Your location will also impact the hour rate.
To estimate the cost to paint interior walls, multiply the square footage by the average price range to paint interior walls, which is $2 to $6 per square foot. For example, a 12-by-12-foot room with 8-foot tall walls is 384 square feet, meaning that the cost to paint the room will range from $768 to $2,304.
