Speed Pro Painting Co

I was going to wait until my carpet was in to make this review, but I am so disgusted by the "work" done by Tara and her assistant that I have to hire new painters to fix the mess she started (Thus pushing back my flooring and costing me more money). She was paid roughly $3,700 to do a job that should embarrass any painter, leave my place a mess, tell me I'm wrong, and then didn't even complete the job as it was quoted. The property is located in Bloomfield Hills and she was supposed to do 3 rooms and a small hallway. The good : She did a good job on the ceiling in one room that was textured. Her timing was somewhat punctual (arrived within 30 minutes of when she said she would). The bad : She did not clean up after herself. As I stated the only thing she did well was the ceiling which had to be sanded, but she didn't even bother to vacuum ANY of the dust she left behind. Instead tracking dust throughout my house. I confronted her about this and she looked at me like I was an alien for expecting someone to cleanup after their work. At the very least she could have put down paper. There are paint marks in my kitchen, globs of paint on my subfloors, and running down my walkway and porch which will now have to be repainted, she even found a way to ruin my welcome mat which I had moved to the side. She also got paint on 3 different spots on my fireplace which are proving hard to come out. She did not even know what parts of the house were to be painted (argued with me about trim even though I was charged for it), she missed obvious spots (we're talking middle of the wall paint is two very different colors). I have dealt with many contractors over my life, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. She did not caulk the baseboard trim the first time around, missed some of the trim that was supposed to be painted (then told me I was wrong and later reviewed the bid she put in and apologized). Even after her "realization" that she had to do more trim she did not do all of the areas she was paid to do. Her patch work was also subpar as it cracked 3 times and more cracks are showing up every time I'm back there to clean up her mess. After all of this I confronted her and she spent about 2 hours "touching up" and there are still obvious areas she did not even touch and she did not even honor her quote. The only thing she was concerned with is getting paid and the moment I withheld a fraction of the money until the job was finished she got very aggressive and tried to be assertive telling me what I was asking for was "Never heard in her 40 years of business". Many times throughout the process she would say "So are ya gonna pay me?". This is the first time in my life I have ever left a negative review for a painter, contractor, etc. but I will say if you value your home and want a job done properly do not hire Tara and Speed Pro Painting. I am out roughly $3,700 and will have to spend a couple thousand more fixing her mistakes or negligence I'm not sure what to call it. I do not know if I will have any recourse in small claims court, but I might try depending on how much cleaning up her shoddy work costs me. The reviews for this company are very misleading and unless you have a very simple, small, and defined project I would stay very far away from Speed Pro Painting. I have never felt more disrespected and essentially robbed by someone who does not care about the quality of work they do, their customers, or the customers belongings/residence.

Tara is very professional and skilled in her craft. You can’t even tell where the repair were made. She also took the time to clean up the drywall dust, leaving the space neater than she found it:)

Both jobs were done very well.

In May 2019, we had Speed Pro Painting remove 30 year old wallpaper from our kitchen and repaint the walls. They did a super job. Our kitchen looks great. Tara and Cody arrived right on time in the morning and the job was completed in the afternoon. Nail holes were also mudded and sanded before painting and excellent cleanup was done. We would recommend Speed Pro Painting highly and will definitely use them again for the next painting job we need.

Excellent service very responsive. We have hired this company at least 3 times. They offer a variety of services. I would recommend to others. Our most recent job included some wet plaster repair and painting ceilings, walls and doors of 2 bedrooms, bath, kitchen, living room, hall and stairwell. This work was all accomplished in 2.5 days. The cost was under $3500, to me I believe it is well worth it. I know I couldn't do a better faster job. Tara the owner works alongside her employees and I value that as well.

This is the 3rd time I've used Speed Pro, because they do a fantastic job! They are easy to work with are clean, efficient and work in a timely manner, at a reasonable rate. The wallpaper came off, but there was a lot of work to get the walls ready for paint. The walls weren't properly primed but the original builder. Tara stripped the old wallpaper and applied new primer and repair the walls, then painted. They did a wonderful job and I love my newly painted walls! I highly recommend them. A+

Tara - Your guys were outstanding!!!!!! We are so happy with the job they did. This is the first time we’ve ever hired a paint job out. I don’t know that I’ll ever paint again! In addition to it looking outstanding, they did in 1 day what would have taken us an entire weekend and then some to accomplish. Both guys were great. Cody especially was fantastic at answering questions and super easy going. Love love love!

Tara arrived on time and went right to work. Woodwork was primed and painted and everything was left clean and tidy. Everything went as expected. Very satisfied.

Tara and her crew did an excellent job. Our new home came complete with a dark, ominous fuschia throughout the bottom floor; wallpaper in the stairway and hallway; and poorly painted upstairs bedrooms with long-needed repairs. Tara and her associates took care of all of it--repairing walls and ceilings where needed and doing a great job putting a white over the dark fuchsia. All three bedrooms got a separate color, and the railing and one door got different colors. All of them came out great. Tara communicated very well with us through the entire process, and the crew was punctual and efficient each of the 4 days during the job. They left the house very clean after each day and affected our day-to-day life minimally--and this is including a 9-month old in the house. Final cost was within 5% of original quote, which was fantastic. Overall a great experience, and we're very grateful to have gotten such an awesome job done in the busy Michigan construction season. We would definitely recommend Speed Pro.

They did an execeptional job, very professional and paint looks great. They were in constant communication with me and were able to take care of my paint color switches since I had changed my mind. Once work was finished they returned everything back to its place and only thing that was needed was some minor cleaning and vacuuming of drywall dust.

I have hired Speed Pro a few times to paint my rental properties, and every time they have been great to work with. There were shelves and nails to remove from the walls, and holes to patch. This house also had some dark colors which required three coats of paint in some areas. Everything turned out very nice.

As always, Tara and Justin made a great team. They were on time and showed up on the days they said they would be here. The paint jobs were perfect (no drips or overlap on moldings.) Also, heat/cold air vents and outlet plates were painted. We had them do ceilings, moldings and wainscoting as well. "Dings" and holes were patched and sanded. You can't even tell where they had been. We were impressed by the speed of the various jobs while maintaining job quality. There was no worry about drips on furniture, rugs or floors. Everything was fully protected. Clean up was outstanding. Tara has a full color spectrum of paint and assisted us in picking and matching. Her input given the lighting conditions etc. was invaluable. We have already scheduled more work for May 2018. We highly recommend Speed Pro Painting. We have been 100% satisfied.

We used Tara to paint our nursery. From the moment, we contacted her she was nothing but professional, always quick to respond and accommodating. She worked with us to find a date ideal for our hectic schedule. Once here she was fast, professional and was quick to get the job done. Our paint job was a mix of paint and glitter and she worked with me to make sure I was happy with the service, the color and the amount of glitter. The paint job was well executed and we could not be happier with our room. I would highly recommend her to anyone! We found her via Angies list, and I am glad that we took a chance on someone from online referrals. I will use her again for upcoming paint needs.

Have used Speed Pro several times now. Tara and her crew are wonderful, friendly and very professional, Their work was exceptional, especially when it came to patching doors, fixing cracks in the walls and the ceiling. I also had them remove wallpaper that had been up for years. They were very speedy, got the job done and made sure everything was cleaned up. Would highly recommend.

The rooms were painted in one day. The mother and son showed up on time, worked steadily and finished before I even came home from work. Wonderful job and I would definitely use again.

This is the second time I've used Speedy Pro Painting, and the second experience was just as wonderful as the first. I'm impressed with the professional manner in which everything was handled. The are on time, work efficiently, are clean, friendly and polite. They let you know in writing everything that they are doing and everything you are suppose to do. They are helpful with color selection as well. I will use them again!

It went great! The house looks amazing and Tara was great to work with! I would hire them again and again for future needs. I would also highly recommend them (and already have) to anybody in need of painting.

Once again, Tara and crew (this time Justin) did a meticulous job. From cover up to clean up there was not a slop or even a tiny speck of paint on anything. Tara spotted areas needing correction before we did and made sure everything was perfect. They were completely on time. And, we marveled at how quickly this BIG job was completed since there was a lot of cut in and some obstacles to work around. The job was completed in just a bit more than 1 1/2 days. The attention to detail was great. They even painted wall vents in the wall color and washed some doors for us. Communication prior was very prompt and straight forward. We already know we're going to use Tara again. I highly recommend Speed Pro.
