"We inteviewed 2 estate sales companies and chose Aaron's because of his enthusiasm, fair price, services to be performed and reviews on Angie's List.  Aaron and Bobby worked most of 4 days setting up and organizing the house contents, pricing, and placing advertising.  They were very flexible and cooperative which allowed us to stay in the house while they were prepping for the sale.  We confined ourselves and items we wanted to keep to one upstairs bedroom and one end of the basement rec room. We stayed at a friends house while the sale was going on.  On Sunday afternoon we met with Aaron and settled and divided the sale proceeds.  He arranged for a charity to come on Monday (we were away) to take leftover items.  Aaron and Bobby hauled all remaining trash to the curb for pickup.  When we arrived back at the house several days later it  was completely cleared out as agreed.  Even though the total sales proceeds were a bit disappointing Aaron fulfilled all the agreed services.  We wouldn't hesitate to engage him again.  Good job Aaron and Bobby."

Antiques and Jewelry Appraisals questions, answered by experts

In most cases, installing a tennis court on your property will drive up your property taxes. Property taxes are determined, in part, based on improvements made to your property, which includes anything with a permanent foundation. Since most home tennis courts include a large concrete foundation, your property taxes will likely increase following the installation. A general rule of thumb is that if your project requires permits—like for a foundation or fencing for a tennis court—then your property taxes will be affected.

Whether or not new windows increase property taxes depends on where you live and by how much your upgrade increases your home’s value. Smaller projects likely won’t result in increased property taxes, but it’s always a good idea to err on the side of caution and check. Contact your local county appraisal department for the most accurate information about property taxes in your area.

While some aspects of an appraisal, such as comparable properties nearby, are out of your control, there are several steps you can take to potentially increase your home's value. Make any necessary repairs and upgrades before the appraiser's visit, as they can only value what is currently part of the home, not its potential. Examples include renovating older areas, updating landscaping to boost curb appeal, and staging your home. You can also provide the appraiser with the cost of recent upgrades, which may increase your home's value by about 50% or more of what you paid for those improvements.

Some appraisers hold a Member of the Appraisal Institute designation. This accolade is the highest credential property appraisers can earn. An MAI appraisal is typically used for commercial properties.

While your lender will likely recommend an appraiser, you can also hire a professional home appraiser on your own. Choose someone who is experienced in your type of residential property, and ensure they hold all of the necessary credentials that your state or region requires.

They provide objective, third-party valuation, guiding fair sales or purchase prices.
