They showed up on the date and time we had Scheduled and even called the day before to make sure we would be home. His crew came in introduced themselves. "I spoke with Dan (owner) at Dust Busters who was very professional & honest. He provided a quote, but then explained that it may be less expensive to replace the air duct run rather than replace due to environmental concerns. He provided referrals to other reputable vendors to help. In my experience, he is an honest person who will do what's best for his prospective customers."

"I had a 5-star experience with Koala Insulation. Tyler Cook was the lead on the insulation job for the attic. He and his team went above and beyond to do the job well. They were polite, professional, and thorough. The quality of their work was excellent, and I could not be happier."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Water heater blanket prices range from $20 to $40 on average, though you typically won’t need to spend more than $30 for all the tools and materials required for installation—which include the blanket itself, heavy-duty scissors, and electrical tape. Blankets with higher R-values will also be slightly higher in price.

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.

Yes, you should insulate behind shower walls. Insulating helps prevent heat loss, which keeps the shower or tub from getting too cold and helps maintain a comfortable temperature in your bathroom. Additionally, proper insulation and air sealing can help prevent wall rot and moisture buildup. It is recommended to use a high R-value rated foam insulation combined with a vapor barrier.

Yes, doggie doors, like all entrances, can let both hot and cold air into your home. However, as with any door in your house, you can take steps to weather-strip your pet's entrance to prevent air leaks.

Opting for insulated ducts can lead to significant long-term savings on your energy bills and contribute to a more efficient HVAC system. The precise amount you can save depends on various factors, including your climate, usage patterns, and the insulation's quality. However, on average, insulated ducts can result in savings of up to 20% on your annual heating and cooling costs, according to ENERGY STAR®.
