. After the mitigation company came in and found that there was still a ton of wet drywall, insulation and flooring we told Homezone we needed to move forward with insurance. The insurance adjuster came out to our home and was dumbfounded that anyone would have thought that $2,500 was a reasonable offer, we settled with insurance for $13,000 and we have had no contact from Homezone since we said we wanted to move forward with an insurance claim. After going through everything we have and having Homezone employees in and out of our home and comparing the reviews with the business cards I have collected from them I see why they have decent reviews, because they are all from employees. I would not recommend Homezone to a single soul. I think their customer service is absolutely awful and the fact that we never received as much as a sincere apology blows my mind. They have even continued to send auto-mated emails and letters asking for reviews and referrals. I have never worked with a company as unprofessional as Homezone and I hope that no one else falls victim to their claims of excellent customer service. We went with Homezone to have our roof replaced even though their price was higher than other companies because the employee who came to our home to do our quote was very nice, he was professional and seemed to be well educated on the product. He showed us that they were licensed and insured, which was obviously important to us. When we asked if all the work was done by in-house employees, he confidently told us yes, we have come to find out that all of the roofing work is subcontracted which if we knew to begin with, we would not have used them. To wrap it up, Homezone started our roof on February 7, 2023, by February 9, 2023, we had a flooded kitchen, crawlspace, and sunroom with not even as much as an apology before offering an amount that was truly a slap in the face at negotiations and the only thing that was consistent throughout the entire process was their unprofessionalism. I would not recommend Homezone to anyone. Today is April 16, 2023, and I am still dealing with the mess that Homezone created. If you only take one thing from this review, DO NOT USE HOMEZONE FOR YOUR NEXT HOME PROJECT! I have included photos of what our kitchen looked like when they offered us $2,500.

We were very happy with the work in every way, the only problem was: our contract was signed 8/19/2015, projected completion date  8 - 10 weeks.  but it was more like 17 weeks before they got here.  Worth the wait, though.

Hired them in March to do our tub enclosure and shower floor. . Still waiting on it to be finished, they say they will give us a call then we don't hear from them. They would at least call with updates even if they don't get the supplies in they are waiting for. Tub is off level so shower doors are too. Tried to say it was our tub beneath the tub surround but we didn't have any issues with ours before. Waiting on a fix for the unlevel shower doors. It's almost done. Received our soap dish beginning of September, it took that long. I should have known when the sales rep showed up an hour late with no samples. After we agreed on a price we asked about the free ipad with a job over a certain amount. He responded that we got too good of a deal so we don't get the ipad. We also downgraded from a fancier wall surround to a plain one and should have gotten a break on the amount for that but didn't.

Finally finished the beginning of October.

Estimate was very high. I had the roof done for half the price they provided and they called me every 2 days for 3 months trying to pressure me into letting them do the work.
Response from HomeZone Improvements
"(member name), it is unlike our company to respond to a customer by calling every two days. Is it possible that the representative was trying to contact you himself, please let me know. I am also confused because our in home agents are required to bring to our office a copy of the proposal information provided to you. The proposal was registered in our system for $9730.00 and matches our records of your homes roof. Is it possible you have confused us with another company? I only ask because your proposal was written November of 2013 and I am just receiving this complaint today April 7th of 2014. I apologize for any miscommunication or grief this has cost you."

The original estimate was for $18000-19,000, but they eventually were able to give me some discounts to bring the cost down to $11000-13000 (45% discount total). If I signed that day they would have given me an additional 10% off, or I would have to decide soon because the previously mentioned discounts could expire at any time...

We arranged to have a salesman visit us to give us an estimate on replacing our roof shingles. He gave us the sales pitch, showed us the product they use, measured the roof and gave us a quote. The price was high and after we hesitated a few times, he did bring the price down. It was obvious they wanted to make it difficult for us to say no but we didn't feel excessive pressure to say yes. Eventually we settled on a price and signed a contract to have them install the roof. They offered a few very reasonable financing options and we chose one. The salesman was there a couple hours from start to finish. The price is probably a little on the high side but I believe the product is high quality and I like working with companies I feel I can trust. (They did some work for us a few years prior and we had been satisfied with their work.)
They called a couple weeks later and asked if we wanted to start in a couple days. The workers showed up promptly and started right away on the project. They took great care to make sure the old shingles were not indiscriminately thrown from the roof but instead carried piles of shingles by hand across the roof to dump in the dumpster. The workers were efficient in tearing off the old shingles and replacing with new. The job was completed in about a day and a half and even worked long on the first day because it looked like it might rain in the night. They did an excellent job cleaning up each day and rolling magnets around to make sure all the nails were picked up.
Overall, we were happy with the company and their level of service. We would call them again should the need arise for a new job.

Overall this company performed great. The communication was great from start to finiish. The sales person did a good job explaining the process and the project manager kept me well informed. Right from the start they called to thank me for the business and explain what I would expect and followed through to the end.

The sales presentation (pitch) was only going to last for about an hour (I was told). Although the estimator was professional and courteous in the beginning, it took two hours for his presentation to be completed. We were presented with 3 estimates/packages but the cheapest was still too high for us. We made it clear from the beginning that we just wanted an estimate and would not make a decision at that time. The estimator would not end the presentation as we requested but decided to call his boss to try to get the price down. We explained again that the price was getting better but we still would not make a decision today. He called his boss again (my wife and I got very annoyed and wanted him to leave). His boss told him he may have some shingles left over from another job that would bring the price down some more and insisted we make a purchasing decision NOW to take advantage of this lower price. I told him AGAIN that we were not making a decision today and asked him kindly to leave our home.
The bottom line; price got better after annoying calls to his boss but we did not like to be pressured into making a decision. The idea of lowering the price because he had shingles left over from another job made me think they would cut corners just to get this job. This company might do good work but the high pressure, take no for an answer sales pitch lost our interest in them.

They were a little pushy but another member of my family had them out for a quote and the person who did that quote was not pushy. I found them good to deal with and I let them know how I felt about the salesperson that came to my house. I think they would address that so I would not hesitate to call them again; their quote was competitive. They were very responsive.

We had a rocky start trying to get the financing arranged, but once that was settled the process went very smoothly. They came on the day they scheduled with me which was was within two weeks of the date I had the financing secured. The supervisor went over what they would be doing and the amount of time it would take (4 days). If I came home when they were still working he would provide me with an update of their progress. The work crew was very friendly and respectful of my property. They cleaned up each night to the best of their ability. I expressed a concern about making sure all of the nails were picked up because I have two dogs and didn't want to have nails in their paws. In all, I think I found less than ten nails scattered here or there, which is nothing compared to the number of nails involved in both the old and new roofs. The finished roof looks very nice and they did a great job cleaning up when they were totally finished with the project. So far, there have been no issues. I found this company to be very responsive to my questions and concerns. They were flexible with my work schedule and would meet with me when I was available (in the evenings).
