TomCo Asphalt IncIt went great!!! The price was very good (got three other bids) and the care at each step of the process was just excellent. I met with the estimater the same day I called for a quote. He answered all my questions and gave me a written quote on the spot. The wait time between my decision to go with them and when they came was very reasonable. Excavation of the new area and grading of the entire driveway was done in a timely, skillfull manner. The actual asphalt process went very smoothly and they left me with a maintenance sheet for my new driveway along with a coupon for maintenance next year. The owner was on hand to inspect the actual asphalting and was watching for any problems or questions that might arise. Overall, an excellent job at a fair price. TomCo Asphalt IncThe job was done in the afternoon, so the edges showed a drying different from the rest of the surfacing. Tomco installed the asphalt late last summer and even had the New Customer Discount Applied, so the application should have been done in the early morning. I was pleased that they acknowledged the error, and they were just as displeased with the work as I was. They scheduled another appointment to re-coat the driveway to help reduce the discoloration of the edging. The results are much improved. I believe that when they redo the driveway in a couple years it won't even be noticeable. I have uploaded several pictures. As you can see, in some places it is still noticeable while in others it's negligible. If you have new asphalt, make sure they are scheduling you for an early am appt (and if possible, on a cooler day).- Brian M.

McKearney Asphalt & Sealing IncOur experience in dealing with McKearney's was great. We have a very long, wide (19,550 sqare feet) asphalt driveway. We share access to the driveway with two neighbors, so the driveway project was a joint collaboration. Andy McKearney was very thorough and patient about answering everyone's questions, responding via e-mail, breaking down the estimates, etc. I do think he went the extra mile to make sure everyone was informed and OK with the project. Because we scheduled our driveway work somewhat late in the year, the weather was not ideal. Andy knew we needed to wait for a couple of good, warmer, dry days before sealcoating, because so much of our driveway is in the shade. It took a couple of weeks, but McKearney's waited and called us to let us know they were coming the night before. Overall, we would use them again. I doubt they are the least expensive company (though they were comparable in price to Hayhoe Asphalt), but you typically get what you pay for.- Rachelle H.

We bought a house with a patio that sloped downward to the house so when it rained, the water all flowed to the house and then seeped into the basement. Steve Fineas built a cement porch across the entire width of the back and sloped it to drain away from the house. It is just one step higher than the patio. It doesnt look sloped but it works perfectly to control rain water.

Built according to contract. Used wolmanized lumber and PVC standards for the support attached to 4x4 blocks of wood. Used 2x6 joist (better than 2x4) with 2x5 side skirting to keep out animals from underneath. Platform used OSB and then trimmed it off with a strip of painted aluminum to protect the edges of the OSB from weathering. The entire was leveled.
Overall, nice job. I would use them again.

Chuck Brand does quality work and expects the same of his employees and subcontractors.to After each phase of the work is completed he checks for craftsmanship. He dug out foundation, poured cement, framed, mudded and drywalled, put in a hardwood floor and painted the room. The room is beautiful. He also added a roof to our back deck which really added a nice touch to our house. I would highly recommend him.
