"You should probably add 4-6 weeks to the expected delivery date if you expect to need the "enclosed" hardware. I received the blinds in the estimated time, but it came without the required hardware. I have made 4 calls (at least) over several weeks, but the hardware is nowhere in site. It is clear that SelectBlinds.com is a marketing company only has outsourced all production and fulfillment to third parties and evidently has a difficult time coordinating these type of customer service issue. Extremely frustrating that my blinds have been sitting in the floor for over a month and all I need is a few screws. Happy to go to Home Depot to get the screws, but SelectBlinds can't even tell me what sizes I need."

"Repair Clinic sent me a water intake valve that had some scuff marks and an unnecessary fixture (which I thought nothing of, assuming it had been removed from a new dishwasher). When the part did not fix my dishwasher's issue, I ordered a circulation pump, which also failed to fix the issue, so I decided to return both parts. Repair Clinic blamed me for the scuff marks and extra fixture, which is unacceptable. They referenced their return policy which states that parts which have been installed cannot be returned, and denied me any form of refund. For all I know, the water intake valve was defective, and I have no recourse. Don't put any stock in the "No-Hassle 365-Day Returns" they proudly tout on their homepage. Instead, expect finger-pointing and uncaring dismissal. You are better off with one of their many competitors."

Yes, it is essential that you perform bi-annual maintenance on your bifold doors. This means checking the hardware, cleaning the door and the tracks, and lubricating the locks. In most cases, a pre-hung door is a better option, not only because it’s far easier to install as a DIY project, but also because you’ll get a new frame and a new door at the same time for a more complete upgrade. Replacing a door costs more with pre-hung doors, but the additional investment is usually well worth the money. Pre-hung doors require fewer tools and less experience to install properly. With that being said, a slab door might be better if you’re on a tight budget or have a custom wall opening size that a pre-hung door won’t match.

For most doors, you can use a 1-inch chisel to create the mortise for the strike plate. In addition, you can use a 3/4-inch chisel for more refined cuts and to clean up the edges of your mortise. The smaller tool is handy when squaring off the edges around the hole for your latch.

A barn door needs a bottom track to ensure it operates smoothly and doesn’t get stuck or scratch the floor. This bottom track also keeps the door secure and properly anchored. When installing a barn door with a bottom track, ensure it is six to eight inches off the floor and at least twice as wide as the door. In rare cases, an interior barn door can hang from a top track and slide along the wall. This design doesn’t require a bottom track.
