"Great experience overall. You get what you pay for with a service like Matrix. I am not in construction, and I paid for peace of mind for my basement project. I got more than I expected since Matrix coordinated the permit process, all of the materials procurement, all of the tradesmen that came through, the logistics of material delivery, material movement into the space from the delivery trucks, the city inspections, and likely a hundred other activities and decisions that must be made along the way. I didn't have to do any of that, which was a great weight off my shoulders. From the start. all the trades that came through were on time, with Matrix uniforms and tarps to protect flooring. It was clear that each trade was professional and adept at their work. I was impressed by each one, the attention to detail and the thoroughness. I liked the way the project was managed. I was provided access to a portal that contained a detailed schedule of work, a place to make payments, a place to send messages to the Matrix team and a place where the trades uploaded photos of the progress. The work was assigned a Project Manager that became my central contact, which was great. Any question or concern that came up, I took it up with him. If the trades had a question or concern, they took it up with him. That made for a very smooth process overall. I didn't have any issues throughout the work and that is because I received timely communication of any changes in the schedule or anything else that came up. From my part, I made an effort to do the same; to communicate my needs and questions. I am very happy with the final result, and I have peace of mind that it is done correctly and to code. I don't anticipate any problems with the work and I look forward to using the space for years to come. show more

"Matrix did an excellent job installing a bathroom in my basement. Steve was incredible in coordinating the different work that needed to be completed and there were many variables for him to juggle. My bathroom shower is probably the nicest in Southeastern Michigan (not bragging - I'd post pictures if I could). Steve's teams did an excellent job getting everything done and making it look as luxurious as possible. The only constructive feedback I have for the company is that the pricing was very steep considering that I believe many steps in the process may have been eliminated; the sales rep was not familiar with every scope of work necessary which made things confusing for Steve (the Project Foreman), and there was an additional individual whom I never corresponded with which made me wonder if there are too many folks involved to keep the pricing affordable. I paid to install the bathroom what I wanted to pay to complete the entire basement and I had to complete some of the work myself to include painting and flooring installation. Overall the quality of the work is tremendous, however, I still think there's opportunity to restructure the approach to completing projects that could drop the pricing down for the consumer. I would definitely hire the company again as they do incredible work and I couldn't be happier with my completed bathroom.show more

"Everything went excellently well. This is the best big project experience I ever had. Both Howard & Bob are very nice and mostly importantly they are really responsive. Once the job was started, every question I sent via text, I got a response within 10 minutes. They treated me like a family member, always considering the customer's feelings and doing their best for the design, using the best materials they could find. For example, in my new bathroom, I purchased two mirrors that need electric wires on the back, Bob tried many ways to use the built-in plug instead of hard wiring, so it will be easier to maintain in future. When normal sockets and recessed sockets don't work, he purposely purchased TV recessed socket to resolve the issue. I can tell he did his best effort to help, as if this was for his own home. When schedule is tight on shower glass installation because of the holidays on the supplier side, Howard pushed ho*** ** the glass baking supplier to get everything done within the my requirement.
