"Completely rebuilt our 26-year-old wood burning mason fireplace to bring it up to code. In the firebox completely removed fire brick from back and both side walls. completely removed clay flue and replaced with insulated stainless steel. This included adding a lever operated lock top damper and stainless-steel exterior flue cap. Much time was spent adding chamber tech 2000 parge coating to the smoke chamber. Kevon and his two workers were excellent. All details on steps being taken were clearly explained. All carpeting was protected from the front door to the work area in the family room. All debris was removed from the job site. This was a big job that took two days to complete. Am following the recommended wait time and break in steps to be taken. It is comforting to know that we have a completely safe fireplace that is up to code. Looking forward on having Doctor Flue perform annual chimney sweeps during the off season. Our specialized chimney Inspection services using our custom Chim-Scan Digital Video Cameras kits, allows us to view the inside the chimney to examine the condition of the clay flue tile, to look for cracks in the tile or masonry, and to determine the integrity of the flue tile joints. Defects in the flue can pose a potential fire or carbon monoxide hazard to the home and occupants. When you have crumbling, deteriorating brick, we offer a complete chimney and fireplace repair and restoration service. "The old fireplace was rusted and had to be replaced together with the flue and the covers at the top of the chimney. The project was done on time and at the cost within the limits quoted initially. There were no cost surprises at the end of the project. They also work with a credit company that can finance the project for a good deal (no interest for 18 months at that time). The team was professional and they finished the work on time (the actual work took about two days). The cost was maybe a bit more pricey than the average, but the job was well done and without extra costs or surprises at the end."
