"Great. Chris and David did the work and Tim, their manager, checked in. Chris and David were here on time every day, worked hard were very polite and did excellent work. Adding one more good painter would have cut down the time our house was in dissaray by a couple of days which would have been ideal."

"Highly recommend Jimmy & his crew. Immediate response to our inquiry & their fee estimate was very competitive with other companies we contacted. Job involved painting the exterior of our 4,000 sq. ft. redwood home, garages , fence & decks. Windows, doors, gutters, etc., were all carefully masked after the house was power washed. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail. Bottom line is that the exterior of the house has not looked this good since it was built 30 years ago. These guys are true professionals."

"I had been shopping around for a fair and reasonable price while not sacrificing the quality of work done. It took over a month to meet with numerous painters, many with ludicrous almost comical proposals and/ or lack of commitment to the project. I was about to give up and paint my house myself. Then James from JAR painting contacted me and came out and did a quick walk around and gave me a fair estimate on the spot. He was straightforward, direct, and they did an exceptional job. James and his entire crew are professional, experienced and completed the job in a reasonable time frame. Excellent people to work with! James has a member in his crew who did an exceptional job on some rotted wood in several places that needed to be replaced. They saved me from having to replace a window due to a rotted bottom frame. If you are in need of your interior or exterior of your house painted give them the opportunity to give you an estimate. You’ll be happy with the result!"

"From the first contact through Angi, and along every step of the process, this company was exceptional. Tony did a wonderful job staining my deck in two colors and balcony in one color. Communication with Tuvia was very easy and exceptionally professional. They were the highest bidder and worthy of the investment. I highly recommend them and will use them for any future painting project."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.

Aftercare includes routine cleaning, checking for water repellency, and promptly addressing any chips or peels, maintaining the deck's appearance and functionality.

It’s important to make sure the wood on a new deck is properly seasoned. Seasoning a deck is simple: Once you build it (or have a pro do so), just leave it alone so it can acclimate to the environment. If you don’t give the deck proper seasoning time before staining, the stain can lock in any lingering moisture and cause mold, rot, and other moisture issues down the road. Give the wood at least four to eight weeks to season before you stain.

Yes, many repair services include repainting to match the color of the existing siding or walls. Most professionals offer this service to ensure the repaired area blends in seamlessly.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.
