Things fell apart after that. Deadlines weren't met...repeatedly, deadlines they set. Expectations they set went unmet. Communication was poor. If something is wrong just tell me. I can deal with that. Fortunately our contractor did the work of communicating with them and making things happen...finally! Probably a good thing it wasn't me.Don't keep telling me what you think I want to hear and completely destroy your credibility with lousy performance. In the end, we got the project done and are fairly certain about what happened. Not going to share that because I am not completely sure. However, we are absolutely certain that we'll never do business with this company again. We would encourage you to look elsewhere. This product is expensive. Choose wisely. There are plenty of options out there."

Chimney crowns should be at least 2 inches thick at their thinnest point. If the crown is thinner than 2 inches, it’s more likely to be damaged and allow water to seep into the chimney.

The best wood for a fireplace includes hardwoods, such as ash, birch, cherry, maple, and oak. These woods ignite quickly and put out the most heat. They also produce less smoke than other types of wood. It’s a simple process that involves removing and scrubbing the glass, cleaning off the logs and rocks, vacuuming the inside, and wiping down the exterior. It should take about an hour.

Chimney crowns may be stone, concrete, or metal but most crowns are made of concrete. It’s not recommended to build chimney crowns with mortar (which is different from concrete) due to it’s weaker composition (especially when exposed to the outside elements).
