"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"My move went wonderfully. I was their second move of the day, so they were a little late, but called to let me know. I had three strong college students who moved me. They were very personable and very careful with my belongings. I would definitely hire Elite Haulerz if I needed anything moved."

"Three movers came but they were not hard workers. The furniture was not wrapped but only padded on the truck. Two of the three asked to use the bathroom for a total of at least 30 minutes. Their fees are based on time so I was not happy! We’ve moved lots of times and I would rank them among the worst we’ve had."

"Definitely recommend this moving company! They arrived on time and made it work going up and down the stairs when helping us move. They were extremely efficient and made the moving process as easy for us as possible."

"Josh was great to work with. He was detailed and honest. Rene and Joe arrived right on time and worked like a well oiled machine. My wife was not sure that they could get all our stuff in the truck but no problem. Even room to spare. They handled everything with care and no damage. The unloading went quickly and without problems. These guys are pros, so efficient and careful. We will have to move again in a year and they will be my first pick. They made a very stressful time in our lives so much better. Canâ t go wrong with Josh and crew. Highly recommend Josh for your move."

"I had a packing crew and a moving crew. The packing crew was not careful or thorough at all! The next day I went around and found drawers and cabinets still not packed including my silverware. The moving crew was wonderful and concientous. Both at the pickup sight and when delivering"

"Excellent experience, and that says a lot because moving is usually a nightmare! They showed up with real professional equipment, not just a basic dolly. The stair climbing dolly was incredible. Heavy furniture went up to a second floor apartment smoothly and safely without scraping walls or beating up the pieces. It saved a huge amount of time and effort. They also brought heavy duty dollies, straps, thick blankets, shrink wrap, and the right tools to disassemble and reassemble furniture quickly. Everything was organized and efficient. You could tell they do this everyday of the week. The guys worked hard, placed everything exactly where it needed to go, and made sure we were completely satisfied before leaving ahead of schedule having completed the job early. Hiring a crew that brings thousands of dollars in professional equipment and a million dollars worth of know how makes all the difference. Big thanks to everyone involved! Will use again this summer :)"

Moving questions, answered by experts

Renting a moving truck or using a shipping container (or moving pod) are typically the cheapest ways to move long-distance. For moving a few items, a container can cost as little as $700. Renting a standard-sized moving truck averages between $1,200 and $2,100. For longer distances, moving pods can become more cost-effective, as you can ship the pod to your destination and avoid transportation costs like gas, mileage, and lodging.

To save your flooring’s finish and to protect yourself from injury, use furniture sliders to move your couch from room to room on the same house level. Double-check that entryways are large enough to pass through. If you need to move a couch up or down stairs, hire a team of movers to help you with this task to avoid damaging your walls or staircase.

Unscrew and remove furniture legs if possible. If it’s not possible, then run the straps parallel on the inner side of the furniture legs. Never put your straps on the outer side of legs where they can easily slip off.

The most expensive part of moving is hiring professional movers. However, hiring a pro is more efficient and less stressful, so many people find the cost worth it. You’ll also spend a lot of money on packing supplies, including boxes, tape, and bubble wrap, so ask around to see if any friends or family members have old supplies you can use for free.

The best equipment for moving large rocks from your yard depends on their size and weight. A heavy-duty wheelbarrow or a rock dolly can be effective for smaller boulders. A skid-steer loader or a mini-excavator with a grapple attachment provides the necessary power and control for larger, heavier rocks that you can’t lift manually. Professionals may use a larger excavator and ratchet hoist to remove larger boulders.
