We can't express how much we appreciate JCS Fireplace and their staff for our gorgeous new fireplace. They replaced a fireplace that had been done when the house was built in 1949. Now we have a modern looking fireplace we will be enjoying the rest of our lives. Jeff, Cindy, Joe and their installers are just wonderful. They are very neat and meticulous when doing their job. There is very little clean up after they leave. The stone used on our fireplace was small and many sizes, Dave our installer, was patient and continued to complete the job in one day even though it took him over 10 hours. We love JCS Fireplace. Highly recommend talking to them if you are considering a fireplace redo or a new fireplace. You won't be disappointed.

South Bend location. The fireplace doors were a critical piece of a larger remodeling job for my fireplace. After they came out to make precise measurements of the fireplace openings, I ordered the doors. Although they were expensive, I was confident the job would be well done and I time. After waiting 6+ weeks, JCS arrived to install the doors. One went in easily, the other was about 10 inches too wide. They promised to rush an order for a replacement and committed to install it as soon as it arrives. However, after waiting another 6 weeks, they called and offered a date about 10 days out. The delayed doors were causing delays to the overall projects and I two other companies waiting on the doors before proceeding with their work. JCS finally agreed to come in a few days to install the doors. . Overall, communications were very poor and the replacement door was never expedited. The owner told me she had to eat the cost of the first door (remember they measured for the order), so I was not the only one being impacted. My suggestion to friends would be to order doors with a big box store and have them installed if needed. The 2-3X price differential did not turn out so well.

Everything went very smoothly, we were very happy with all aspects of the work. It is a really well run company. The new fireplace has changed the character of the room, it is now our favorite room in the house.

Jeff and Cindy worked with us for a couple of months until our basement was ready to install the new gas heat stove. When the installation day finally came, Jeff and Mark were very prompt and removed our wood-burning stove up the stairs, out the door and placed in my storage shed for future use. They proceeded to assemble the new stove and installed the venting through the ceiling and out of doors. They were able work through a couple of assembly problems, while keeping us informed along the entire process. After the installation, they educated us about the stove operation and showed us some troubleshooting hints, should we need them. They were very professional and accommodated our requests.

It went great. Got a good discount off of MSRP. Installers were very professional, fast and clean. I love my Jotul unit. Everything was smooth and easy.

Arrived on time. Efficiently set up all equipment outside, covered hardwood floors and protected furniture. Removed old mantle and tile surround. Installed lathe on wall - up to cathedral ceiling. Stacked individual stones per our request being careful to use varying stone shapes and colors. Cleaned up very well afterwards. Both gentlemen were pleasant and eager to complete the job in a very professional manner.
