"McFadden Stump & Tree Removal were prompt, professional, and thorough. Although I had only scheduled a quote on the tree the young man who showed up had just come from a stump grinding job in Alpena and made me a good offer to grind four stumps in my yard. "I am so incredibly happy with the great job Robbie and his crew did to take down a few trees that partially fell at my cottage after a huge wind storm. The trees were in a precarious position dangerously close to the house. Robbie explained everything & how they would take them down. He kept me updated throughout the day. After the trees were down they hauled the trees & the debris back with them. I would recommend M&M to anyone needing trees cut down. Great Job guys!"

If you’re planning on keeping the tree, unless the roots are invasive, there’s no need to remove them, as doing so can cause damage to the tree. Leaving the tree stump and letting it rot is never a good idea, as this leads to insect infestations and other frustrations. Additionally, decomposing trunks are at risk for diseases that spread out to the remaining plants and trees in the yard, thus ruining your whole outdoor aesthetic. It's usually best to remove the stump at the same time you remove the tree.

There are a few things you should look for in a stump removal company to make sure you’ll be satisfied with the results:

  • Proper business licensing and insurance

  • History of positive reviews

  • Good rating with the Better Business Bureau
