"We had a leaky sprinkler system that we could not use. My husband is just too old to work on it because of his bad knees and feet. Mo came out and figured it all out and it’s running beautifully now and at a reasonable price as well. I want him to come back and try and run a line through my back 40 that the previous owner hacked through and rendered useless. He also does garden lighting. The prospect is very exciting. Super nice guy and he knows what he’s doing. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾"

"I recently hired Superior Lawn Irrigation to install a new irrigation system, and I couldn't be more impressed! From start to finish, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They took the time to understand my lawn's needs and customized the system to ensure even water distribution, which has made a noticeable difference in the health and appearance of my lawn. The installation was quick, and they left the yard clean and tidy. I highly recommend Superior Lawn Irrigation for anyone looking for a reliable irrigation system installation or maintenance service. "Overall they do a fine job. The mowing height is a bit high for a 7 day schedule on my yard. Sometimes the trimming along the edges is skinned to the turf. The clean-up of driveways and sidewalks is exceptional. I am happy with the job they do, and will have to wait for my physical condition to improve, before I will be able to address the mowing frequency by mowing myself at desired times as deemed appropriate for my lawn."

Lawn Care questions, answered by experts

Always mow the lawn on a short setting when overseeding. The thinner coverage offers more space for the grass seed to take root in the soil. When reseeding a lawn, however, you may need to remove your old turf altogether.

Mowing a lawn will, unfortunately, not get rid of clover, and it may even encourage it to flourish. Let your lawn grow to a healthy height of over 3 inches and then set your mower blades no lower than this level. Higher grass will cut out the light that clover loves and discourage it from spreading.

There are tools known as “sprinkler donuts” that are specially designed to aid in cutting the grass around your sprinkler heads by protecting them from your mower or weed whacker. You can also use a pair of hand shears to do the job manually if you’re willing to get a little dirty.

If your lawn and general landscape are struggling, consider calling a local landscape specialist to suggest lawn amendments, local plants, and hardscape changes to boost the long-term health of your outdoor space. While you may be able to take on small projects yourself—such as reseeding your lawn or testing the soil—a professional can help you build a plan to bring a struggling yard back to life quickly.

Many homeowners in warmer climates like this resilient, hearty grass because it can tolerate excessive heat and drought while developing into a lush lawn. Unlike other grasses, Bermuda grass grows and spreads quickly and can withstand excessive foot traffic. But whether Bermuda grass is good for lawns may depend on your geographic location, as this grass has a low tolerance for cooler temperatures, which causes it to go dormant and turn brown in the winter months.
