"Was very pleased with the service. He was on time and respectful. I appreciated that he took the time to point out some cracks that needed attention on the chimney, and showed me how to do it myself. He was honest about how often the sweeping should be performed. It is clear that he cares about his customers and isn't there to rip them off. He even explained how to do the service myself if I wanted to.

"We bought a "fixer upper" in Troy in the summer of 2018 and the chimney needed a lot of work. The bricks at the bottom needed repair and the chase cover and chimney cap were rusted out. I took bids from 5 different contractors for the brick work and 4 different contractors for the new chase cover and cap. We went with Jeff for the brick work because he was very personable, he had excellent reviews on Angies, and he was the 2nd lowest bid. The only person who gave a lower bid was only slightly lower and he had virtually zero online reviews. Jeff did the brickwork for about $1,650. Other contractors with comparable online reputations wanted as much as $3,500. We went with Jeff for the chase cover and cap because, in addition to the reviews mentioned above, he was one of the few who offered to do it in stainless steel. If you look around my neighborhood you will see that as many as half of the houses have rusted chase covers and chimney caps (1990's McMansions in Troy). Ours was no different and the corrosion was so bad water was leaking into the chimney. Everything I read online and personal friends who knew construction / Home Improvement all said the same thing; if you want your chase cover to last forever get stainless steel or copper. Other contractors had cheaper bids but they wanted to do the chase cover in aluminum of galvanized steel. In some cases these bids were half the price but we prefer construction materials that last. As mentioned above we bought a home that was a "fixer upper" and needed a lot of work. We were also residing the home. Jeff was very flexible in working around the siding crew during a VERY busy season. We worked with over a dozen contractors in fixing up the home we bought. Grey Oaks was the one contractor we were 100% satisfied with and had zero regrets in hiring. I will be recommending them to friends and family."

"Nosh did a fantastic job.  He arrived promptly at 8, confirmed what I wanted then set about his business with repairs.  When he was done with the work (and cleaning up) he walked me through all of the work he did and answered a few other questions I had.  He was gone by Noon and now I have a chimney cap that will last for many years."

"The first thing I purchased on Angie's List was a Big Deal, A handyman for a day with Lombardo Restoration. For years, my husband and I had a few small problems and issues around the house. I had called for various construction businesses to help us with these problems. Most would not even come out because the jobs were to small, to make it worth their time! So, I was very please to see Len and Jay arrived at my home and they got right to work on my list of problems. Len was very helpful with the questions I asked in regards to a front step I had to have reset at the front door ( first on my list). I had also added some more items on the list and Len agreed to do the extra, too. They were very efficient and got right to work. Also, Len came to me with an issue, I had not thought of, the instillation in my attic. He had been doing some work in my bathroom and he notice a problem with air circulation in my upper floors and some popped nails in the ceiling. He explained how insufficient instillation, in the attic can lead to a lot of these problems occurring in my house. I had never inspected the attic, the whole 27 years that my husband and I have lived here. My husband and I didn't realized the problem that this could cause, Thank you, Len. I will recommend Lombardo Restoration to all my freinds."

"Very professional.  RAM left and purchased shingles needed for job and they matched pretty well.  Have not had any further problems nor any trace of shingles coming off during recent high winds.  Provided a complete assessment on condition of roof and all work completed.  Very satisfied and would definitely recommend to others."

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

Typically 1-2 hours, factoring in ductwork and electrical connections.

A range hood is an exhaust fan for your kitchen, and several types and styles exist. They are meant to remove grease, moisture, and fumes from your stove. Although some models filter and recirculate the air, the most effective ones remove the air through a duct that’s vented to the outdoors.

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.

Yes, they can assess the size, kitchen layout, and ventilation requirements to make recommendations.

Neglected maintenance can lead to odors, fire hazards, impaired airflow, and reduced range and hood operation efficiency.
