Small jobs welcome

"Xtreme Excavation and Grading was fantastic, my sewer pipe was backing up so i ran a camera and come to find out it was packed full with roots and waste, so I googled up some companies and got a couple quotes but the I called and spoke with Brandon (the owner of Xtreme) and him and his guys didn’t waste any time!! He told me the price (which was extremely reasonable nearly half as much as the other 2 places i called) came out the next day and fixed my issue, Very friendly and knowledgeable and they did great work!! I will definitely be keeping them in mind for future needs"

"We had some sewage back up into our basement sink on a Saturday morning. I called Clog Busters based on their Angie’s List reviews. They didn’t have a crew available on the weekend, but were available on the following Monday. The crew did a great job explaining the problem and finding a solution for me. Great customer service and they earned their money working in some frigid and snowy weather. I hope to never have another sewer backup, but if I do, I will call Clog Busters."

"We were originally scheduled for an early December job, but a slot opened and we were inserted two months earlier. Doug and his crew showed up early in the morning on the first day to drain the pool and begin tearing down the safety fence, removing accessories and making way for the machinery to gain access to the pool area. Once everything was cleared, a bobcat and a backhoe were used to remove the concrete and break up the marcite as necessary to meet code. All waste and concrete remnants were hauled away. Day two involved filling the pool after approval by the town inspector, then putting down topsoil and seeding the area. The entire job was completed in two days. Now, three weeks later, the seed is sprouting with an expectation that the lawn will establish well next spring. All in all, it seems that Pool Busters did a great job! The final proof will be seeing how much the pool area settles after the winter season. So far, so good after a couple of saturating rains."

"I hired River Rock after hearing from a friend about their work. We had them do mulch and plant flowers in our front and back yards. Their motivated crew came and worked efficiently, finishing faster than originally thought and the outcome was beautiful. Since then we have had them back seasonally to do mulch, put new rocks on our driveway, plant and take down trees, and grade parts of our lawn. Could not be more happy with their work will definitely hire again."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

In Lansing, unexpected land surveying costs can include additional research for unclear property deeds, replacing missing boundary markers, or resolving property line disputes. Fees may also arise for utility location services, permit applications, or expedited survey requests. The Michigan Board of Professional Surveyors suggests discussing all potential extras upfront and requesting a written estimate that covers possible contingencies, especially for older or irregularly shaped lots.

Helpful?

In Lansing, most land surveys themselves do not require a permit, but you may need a building permit for construction projects that follow a survey. The Lansing Planning Department and Zoning Office can confirm if your project needs zoning approval or floodplain review, especially for properties near the Grand River. For commercial sites, an ALTA/NSPS survey may be required by local authorities or lenders.

Helpful?

In Lansing, a typical residential property boundary survey takes about 1-2 weeks, while topographic or ALTA/NSPS surveys may require 2-4 weeks. Complex projects, such as subdivision platting, can extend to several months, especially during peak construction season or winter. The Lansing Planning Department recommends scheduling early and discussing your project timeline, as utility marking and permit reviews can add extra days.

Helpful?

After a land survey in Lansing, keep all survey documents and plat maps in a secure place for future reference. Regularly check that survey markers remain visible and undisturbed—especially after landscaping or construction. If you plan property improvements or boundary changes, consult a licensed surveyor for an updated survey. The Lansing Planning Department recommends notifying them if you notice any marker tampering or encroachments to help prevent disputes.

Helpful?

When hiring for land surveying in Lansing, always verify that the surveyor is licensed by the Michigan Board of Professional Surveyors. Ask for recent Lansing property boundary survey examples and confirm they carry liability insurance. Ensure they use modern GPS and digital mapping tools. Request references from local homeowners and check their familiarity with Lansing's zoning codes and plat map requirements. Clear, itemized pricing and a written contract are essential.
