"From start to finish everything was top notch ! From talking to the owner Tom to conversing with the crew at my home. Couldn't be happier with the work that was done. The crew worked hard and efficient and the clean up job was great ! I will be having them come back out next spring to take down another huge tree in my yard. "Brad came out to give us a quote to trim and or remove two large oak trees in our back yard as well as some trimming on other trees; with the quote he gave us, we decided to have both oak trees removed. Brian and Fred removed both trees and did the trimming on the other trees in less than two full days. They were very efficient, patient with our requests, were safety minded, and cleaned up everything so well that you could hardly tell what all they did! We were very impressed and thankful for the timely turnaround from start to finish for our project! we highly recommend Mr. Bill's Land Tree Snow, and will definitely call them again as we have a need! We had received 3 quotes for this project, and their's was the most reasonable."

It’s not as common for Dutch elm disease to affect other types of trees, especially if the surrounding trees aren’t elms. However, it is possible for DED to spread to other trees, particularly in northern states, like Minnesota. In fact, it’s a good idea to use geography to identify wood and determine which types of trees are in your yard. 

Unfortunately, the complex and shallow root system of elm trees makes surrounding elm trees particularly vulnerable to DED. Early discovery is key!

The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

If tree branches cross well into your property line, in many cases, these branches become part of your property, and you can trim them up until your neighbor’s property line. However, this issue will vary based on local ordinances, so you should do your research before making any decisions. Better yet, speak with your neighbor about how to handle any tree issues. 

If you don’t mind the branches, you can leave them be, but if they’re becoming a hazard, it’s definitely worth having a conversation.

Generally, avoid trimming trees in the summer (with the exception of pruning fruit trees as needed). Trees use a lot of energy in the summer, most of which is relegated to new growth. If you chop it too early, you could stunt the next season's growth. Again, when in doubt, do some research based on the specific tree type.

Usually, trees cannot grow back after their stump has been ground, but some very hearty types of trees can. For example, if you have a black locust or Redford pear, the grinding will need to go deep to prevent them from growing back. Ask your tree service or stump removal expert whether your tree can resprout after its stump is ground down.
