"From start to finish everything was top notch ! From talking to the owner Tom to conversing with the crew at my home. Couldn't be happier with the work that was done. The crew worked hard and efficient and the clean up job was great ! I will be having them come back out next spring to take down another huge tree in my yard. My mom is also hiring them to have some tree work done in her yard and would highly recommend them to anyone needing tree service done. Thank you Hall's Tree Service for a superb job done !"

"Corey is the real deal! Itâ s tough to find a tree climber in the first place, but to find one who is reliable, conscientious, and great at what they do is a trifecta to be appreciated! He is fair in his pricing and will take all the time necessary to discuss your tree needs. We had him do up-in-the-tree trim work and also down a large tree. He was able to use the other trees in our yard to assist in laying down our tree with care in order to prevent damage to our lawn. I donâ t know if he can lay trees down in all situations, but I can tell you with confidence that he will do whatever he can to give you the best and most efficient service possible. In these times, itâ s hard to find good service people who donâ t take advantage. This guy has talent and integrity. Totally worth the call to him!"

"Brad came out to give us a quote to trim and or remove two large oak trees in our back yard as well as some trimming on other trees; with the quote he gave us, we decided to have both oak trees removed. Brian and Fred removed both trees and did the trimming on the other trees in less than two full days. They were very efficient, patient with our requests, were safety minded, and cleaned up everything so well that you could hardly tell what all they did! We were very impressed and thankful for the timely turnaround from start to finish for our project! we highly recommend Mr. Bill's Land Tree Snow, and will definitely call them again as we have a need! We had received 3 quotes for this project, and their's was the most reasonable."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Early signs that a tree is struggling include premature leaf shedding and lesions or other strange markings. Peeling bark, dead or rotten branches on the ground, and a conspicuous lack of leaves can all be signs that a tree has started to die. By the time a tree starts leaning, it’s usually too far gone to save.

Not all leaning trees are dangerous, but they can be a hazard as gravity may eventually cause them to fall. A key factor is whether the lean is new or has been present for a long time. Trees that have grown with a lean for years are not typically an immediate danger, but a sudden lean is a cause for concern as it often indicates weakening roots. If a tree is leaning more than 15% from vertical, you should consider having it straightened or transplanted. To be safe, it's always best to hire a professional arborist to inspect any leaning tree to assess the risk and avoid potential accidents.

You should prune ornamental trees once every other year after the fruit has matured and begun to drop. You should also prune out dead branches whenever you see them. Pruning too often can stimulate more growth, especially in faster growing varieties like Bradford pears.

If it’s only a smaller branch that has died and you’re keeping an eye on the tree, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But if other nearby branches start dying off as well, or a very large branch dies, then you likely have a bigger problem. It’s time to watch for diseases and other problems and possibly get professional guidance on how to proceed.

Ideally, you should wait to prune until trees have gone dormant in late fall to early winter. The worst times to prune trees are early fall and late summer, as pruning them so close to dormancy makes it difficult for the tree recover before it goes dormant for the season.
