"Took my 15 year old Sthil chainsaw in because I could not get it to start, had to plunk down fifty bucks to just have them look at it, in my opinion it was not too bad, I had replaced the spark plug and cleaned out old fuel and had new fuel (proper mixture) in it and compression seemed good-though it might just be an adjustment. Week later called me said it was ready and the balance was 52.65, so I thought great, they had 50 so I needed 2.65. After I got there they said the total price was 102.65! asked just what they did-replaced hose (fuel?) for 10.99, pick up body-5.49, air filter 3.99 (filter was not bad I had replaced it last year and cleaned it. Then charged me 72.00 for labor. They also said they sharpened chain and dressed bar which I never asked for! They charge 80/hr so a chain sharpening and dressing should be about 15 minutes or so which means I could have saved about 20.00 for that! They never called me to tell me approximately about how much it might cost and if I even wanted the chain sharpened (I have two sharp chains already!) Asked them about how much I could get for the saw if I tried to sell it-they wouldn't say just that a new equivalent model would be around 220 but that means if I was lucky I might get 100 for it now?! So I paid 102.65 for a saw worth 100 at best and got charged 72.00 labor for a job that should have taken less than half of that! As I see by the other reviews one good and two others bad I should have looked at that first!"
