I work for JCJ Contracting as a laborer and do general construction jobs spanning from basic concrete work, tile installations in bathrooms/kitchens, cabinet installations, setting doors, windows, finish trim installation, and hardwood flooring. This includes basic plumbing and electrical to prepare rental properties as well. \n\nI'm slowly accruing the tools I need to do jobs like these and want to network as much as I can. I hope I can be of service and ease the stress that comes with any construction project.\n\nThank you for reading!

"Very pleased with Nick. He called right after I posted the job. He gave me a fair price and was available the next day to do the work. He was an excellent communicator. He showed up on time, did a quality job and cleaned up."

"I have used impact granite multiple times. Whether it be on my past house, The house I’m in now, Or referring them to family or friends. Bathrooms or kitchens. The outcome is always the same. Everyone over there, especially Sam and Josh always goes above and beyond. Communication is big for them. They are timely. Never leave a mess, always there when they say they will be. The give great attention to detail, and the project always comes out looking great. Couldn’t ask for better people or better out come for projects. Highly recommend, and will keep using them For any projects I have in the future! They make what can be a difficult process easy. Answer all questions and walk you through the process. And definitely accommodate your time line. 10/10"

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

You can likely use spray paint or a paint sprayer for your laminate countertops. You should prep the space the same way as if you were painting with a roller or brush, making sure to cover any areas that you want to protect with a drop cloth or plastic sheets.

When installing an undermount kitchen sink in a granite countertop, use 100% silicone to secure the basin. If you’re worried your sink is too heavy, speak with a countertop professional about how to adhere the sink to the countertop without worrying about issues down the road. Sagging undermount sinks can be a common plumbing problem if they’re not properly adhered, so always make sure you’re using a high-quality material.

With proper care, Corian® countertops can last 20 to 30 years, and they typically come with a 10-year warranty. To maximize their longevity, it is important to fix any damage as soon as possible, clean up spills immediately, and address cosmetic issues promptly. Scratches, stains, and even burns can often be buffed out with sandpaper, and water stains can be treated with a specific water stain remover.

Marble countertops cost $3,000 on average, ranging from about $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the type of marble, square footage, location, and whether you use tiles or slabs. Another major cost factor to consider is the grading of the marble, which determines its quality level.

Use this grading system when selecting marble for countertops:

  • Grade A: Nearly perfect with subtle veining

  • Grade B: Minor flaws such as pits, fissures, or blotches

  • Grade C: Minor and major flaws like chipping and cracks requiring repair

  • Grade D: Significant damage needing repair, with dark veining and pronounced colors

Quartzite is more expensive than granite, largely because of its rarity. Granite is naturally more common. A granite slab generally costs $40 to $60 per square foot (excluding super-rare types), while quartzite slabs cost anywhere from $50 to $150 per square foot.

With both materials, it’s usually more affordable to purchase stones that are readily available in your location. You may need to import other stones, which come at a higher cost.
