"I returned from vacation to find toilets not flushing. Contacted Pete Black Plumbing after referral from Lakeside Services. They sent someone within 2 hours. Before any work done, I was given an estimate for $668 for "up to 50' cabling main cleanout." This seemed high based on prices posted on various websites, but I felt I had no choice since it was already Friday mid-afternoon. I have no complaints about the work but, had I known ahead of time what they charge, I would have called a few other places first. Caveat emptor!"

"They did a great job installing a new hot water heater in 2015. In 2021, I noticed water at the base of the tank (possibly a problem with the drain valve). I filled out the online service request form but did not hear back. In the past three weeks, I have called the service line, and cell phone number listed on their profile several times. I was able to leave a message once (approximately two weeks ago). All other times the voice mailboxes have been full. I have not received any response to the online service request form, nor the phone message I left. It is disappointing and frustrating to spend 1k on a hot water heater, but then simply not to be able to reach anyone or get a callback. If the business is shuttered or overwhelmed for any reason, it would be professional and appropriate to post a message to that effect, at the very least."

"We hired Doug King of SMK Property Maintenance to complete our deck project. The work was originally scheduled to begin on October 14 but did not commence until November 4, and the project was not completed until December 10. What should have been a straightforward undertaking extended to nearly two months. During the process, we were advised to order the wrong product, which was subsequently installed and could not be returned. As a result, the deck?s initial appearance was unsatisfactory. There was lot of miscommunication between him and his contractors. We ended up with two different contractors and the second one completed To his credit, Doug corrected the issue by having the incorrect boards removed and replacing them with the proper materials. However, this required us to purchase the correct materials ourselves, further delaying the project. While the finished deck ultimately looks excellent, the overall experience was marked by significant frustration and avoidable setbacks. "
