"We just bought our home and had some work done. We knew from the previous owner's pets and the dust and debris from the work being done that the vents really needed a good cleaning. Doctor Ducts came out and did a wonderful job cleaning them out (they were REALLY bad). Super awesome all around, especially the customer service. Would definitely recommend."

"We had our ducts and furnace cleaned. They did great work and I felt like I could trust them. When they offered additional services, I asked what they thought we needed. They gave me an honest answer and did not try and upsell me on every service. We plan to call them again when needed."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, through thorough cleaning and inspection, optimizing functionality, and reducing energy use.

While 72 degrees is a comfortable setting for many people, it’s likely not the most efficient temperature setting for your air conditioning unit. By pushing the temperature up to 75 or 78 degrees, you stand to save money on your energy bill. That said, these temperatures may be too warm to be comfortable for some people and are definitely too warm for most people to sleep comfortably.

In most cases, you should hire a professional to carry out services on your HVAC system, as the components are complicated, expensive, and potentially dangerous to work with. However, there are a few things you can do on your own to keep your HVAC system in good condition, including changing your filters every three months, keeping the area around your outdoor condenser clear of debris and plant growth, making sure your or intakes aren’t blocked, and keeping an eye out for increased energy bills, strange noises, and unusual odors related to your equipment.

Yes, it is possible. An electrical fire can break out if the compressor has inadequate ventilation. When it overheats but doesn't have a proper thermal cutout, this can cause the motor to short-circuit and catch fire. This risk is exacerbated if flammable materials, like dust and fallen leaves, are clogging the unit. The compressor overheating won't start a fire by itself, but poor maintenance and installation can increase the risk once it hits its breaking point and short-circuits.

Assessing location for airflow, convenience, and minimal noise impact.
