"Brady came and gave me an estimate.  They were able to start the work the next day.  It went quite well.  They ran into a slight problem in that some of the sub floor came up with the tile.  But it did not result in much of a price increase.  The floor was extremely uneven, but after they were finished, it was even and ready for us to install our floating floor.  They did a great job.

"Tom is a very good and qualified contractor who is working to get his builders license. He gets the job done with top quality and care for the homeowner. He also took pictures at different stages of the job to show us exactly what he did. This was done because my wife and I are seniors and we could not go up on the roof and see for ourselves the progress of the job. I would have given FMC straight 5 stars but I feel that we were overcharged on the final bill. It ended up being a lot more money for the time put in on the job. Make sure that if you hire any contractor that you have everything in writing and ask for a itemized final bill. This is one thing we did not do and I take full responsibility of that portion of the contract. I don't know what carpenter's get for time and materials but I believe that $150 to $200 per hour is a bit much! All I ask of a contractor is to be fair and to me the final bill was not! I wish FMC the best of luck but I can no longer afford them for anymore more work!"

Epoxy is typically more affordable than granite, especially if you’re choosing a high-end slab. Most granite countertops cost $75 to $145 per square foot to install, with high-end varieties topping $185 per square foot. 

In contrast, epoxy countertops cost $50 to $150 per square foot to install. The material costs for epoxy are significantly lower than granite, but installation costs can be higher. Rather than simply cutting granite countertops to size before installation, your contractor will need to carefully pour the epoxy over an existing surface.

The angle at which you cut countertops depends on the material, your intended outcome, and the location of the cut. For example, rather than cutting a straight 90-degree angle for internal corners, cut edges at a 45-degree angle to give a clean, professional look. Concrete countertops usually cost more than granite. The average overall cost to install concrete countertops is $50 to $150 per square foot. Granite countertop costs average between $40 and $50 per square foot. While concrete materials might be cheaper than slabs of granite, the labor costs are considerably higher as it takes more time, specialized equipment and skill to form customized concrete countertops.

While Formica® countertops are scratch-resistant, they are not fully scratch-proof. They will develop marks on their upper decorative layer more easily than quartz, granite, or porcelain tile. Always use cutting boards for food prep and avoid dragging heavy items, such as blenders or big pots, across the surfaces.
