"Shawn was amazing. He spent the entire day (10 hours) pre-treating, cleaning and re-cleaning this 25 yr old carpet. When he left it was 3 shades lighter than it was when he arrived. Other cleaners had been used in the past and this carpet hadn't looked this good in 20 yrs.  I know this because I previously owned this house and originally purchased this carpet.  My daughter will never use anyone else for carpet cleaning and plans to hire Shawn to clean her air ducts."

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

While you might get away with once-monthly vacuuming in rooms you hardly use, it’s not ideal in other parts of your home. Your living spaces will look untidy, and leaving all that dirt lying around is not the most hygienic. Plus, the longer abrasive debris sits on your surfaces, the more chance of scratches or damage to carpet fibers.

The best solution to clean a suede couch is using 4 cups of warm water to ¼ cup of dishwashing liquid. Always test your solution on a small hidden area first to confirm it won’t cause further damage.

You should always use hot water to clean your carpets. The heat will help lift dirt and stains as you work over them with your carpet cleaner. Before you fill your tank, allow your faucet to run until you’re sure the water is hot and ready to go.

A carpet cleaner uses steam to penetrate the fibers of your carpet and remove dirt, while a carpet shampooer uses a detergent to clean the carpet’s surface. These are both efficient methods of cleaning your carpet, but steam cleaners do a better job of sanitizing the surface of the carpet.

No, you shouldn’t let dog diarrhea dry before cleaning it. While cleaning the stain when it's dried sounds less messy, it can cause more harm than good. Old stains have a chance to dry into your carpet, and the smell can go deeper into the fibers. This makes removing old dog poop more of a headache to clean than dealing with diarrhea while it’s fresh.
