I was quoted to have a part changed by Tony's. He gave me a price, said he would have to order it. The next day Tony's office staff called asking if I wanted the part which had doubled from the original quote (she read the quote I received aloud which confirmed it), she told me she couldn't do...

A very good experience. As can happen here in Michigan, the first time it got real cold outside,my furnace came on, but didn't seem to heat well although it would cycle. Monica from the office called promptly after I contacted KTM via Angie's list and set an appointment with another prompt...

I've lived in my house for more than 10-years and have never gotten my dryer vents cleaned (yep, true fire hazard) so I decided to take advantage of the coupon offered by Dr. Sweep. I didn't even have to pick up the phone to make appointment as I was promptly contacted by their very...

Called to get estimate for installation of new water heater. L Walker came next day to look, found old tank leaking and removed it. Have not had new one installed yet as the service call and pric of new tank/installation was more money than I expected.

"The whole process of quoting, sales presentation, finance arrangement, installation was simple, timely, professional, complete and painless. The price was very competitive, the installation was smooth and prompt, and the end product is thing of beauty. This review is from a homeowner who has had a couple of terrible furnace experiences in the past decade."

"They did repair the furnace and the chimney lining (which they'd put in about 8 years prior when they were known as Bob's Sheet Meta)l. I paid them $1065 for the repair and was grateful they could fix the problem. One week after they performed the work, my ceiling and chimney began leaking. I hired a construction company to find/repair the leak and the guy let me know that he found pieces of sheet metal on my roof and wondered why. I explained about the furnace job the week before. He also found that there was no seal between the flue and heating cap on the chimney top. He called Byron's and spoke with someone who authorized him to finish their work. I had to pay the construction company $750 to repair the damage caused by Byron's. I gave Byron ample opportunity to do the right thing (reimburse me the $750) and even offered to accept a credit instead. Byron refused to accept any accountability and instead was mad at the construction company for "throwing him under the bus". There are many good repair folks in and around Houghton, MI but sadly I've learned this is is not one of the reputable companies."

We are a full service chimney company. We do anything from cleaning chimneys, to building chimneys and fireplaces. We specialize in lining or relining old chimneys.
"We had a solid flue liner put in our chimney after a chimney fire. ? U.P. Chimney was very quick to respond, helped us to understand why good maintenance is important and they had the job done quickly. They have also cleaned out our dryer vents and discussed the importance of keeping them clean. Very satisfied with their services."

Yes, it can be worth installing a gas fireplace, depending on your home heating needs. The cost to install a gas fireplace can be much lower than the cost to install a comparable wood-burning fireplace. The convenience of starting a fire with the flip of a switch and turning it off just as quickly makes a gas fireplace a big time saver over starting and maintaining a wood-fueled fire. A gas fireplace also does not require ash cleanup or frequent chimney cleaning to remove creosote and other buildup that can lead to chimney fires. Gas fireplaces burn and heat much more cleanly than wood fireplaces.
A gas fireplace insert costs about $3,600 to install, on average. The cost to install a gas log insert ranges from about $700 to $6,500, depending on the size, type of insert, how it works, and heating needs. Gas fireplaces need electrical and gas lines installed properly, so hiring a pro is recommended rather than trying to DIY installation.
