"I had my 90 year old wood floors redone in my first floor home and they look fabulous! I am so happy that i chose Floor Coverings International for the project The customer focus and attention to detail with every step of the project did not go unnoticed. FCI has exemplary customer service and was professional, kind, and made sure all of my needs were met. They priced the job fairly and I felt that i had great value for the project. Also, the refinish wood team was wonderful! They are true craftsmen and worked quickly and efficiently, but made sure every detail of my floors looked perfect! I would highly recommend FCI to anyone!"

"Refloor did a great job on my basement and laundry room floors. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and made picking a color easy. My old floors were scratched up because of my dogs but my new floor is definitely more durable. I definitely recommend Refloor to anyone that wants new flooring in their home, you won't be disappointed!"

"Jorgo didn’t just install flooring—he blessed my house with divine planks from the heavens. I swear I heard angels sing when he finished. If you’re even thinking of hiring someone else, slap yourself. Don’t gamble with heartbreak and wavy floors. Jorgo is the Michelangelo of flooring—except faster and with better tools"

"Fournier is the absolute best! Our main project was the refinishing 3 floors of 100 year old oak floors and wow are they beautiful! Fournier also installed new flooring that was a perfect match and repaired as needed. Wonderful business and even better humans. Feel comfortable in their hands. 16+ years of experience and it shows!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, professional services include leveling and moisture testing before installation.

The costs range from $3 to $10 per square foot, depending on the carpet type, labor, and subfloor preparation.

Installing carpet padding is mostly a matter of measuring the room and cutting the carpet pad to size with a utility knife. You can save some money on carpet installation costs by doing it yourself. Before installing the carpet padding, you should install the tack strips around the room’s perimeter and prepare the subfloor by cleaning and making any necessary repairs. Then, unroll the carpet pad and cut sections as needed. Staple the carpet pad to the subfloor along the edges, leaving the tack strips exposed.

Popular features homeowners add to their game rooms include pool or ping pong tables, arcade machines, home theater systems, gaming consoles, custom lighting, and built-in storage. Many homeowners also add soundproofing, mini-fridges, or wet bars for added comfort and entertainment value. These features will increase your total investment, but make your game room more enjoyable and functional.

No, thick carpet padding isn’t necessarily better than thinner padding. The appropriate padding thickness will depend on the type of carpet and the amount of foot traffic in the area.

For example, thick padding works well in low-traffic areas, like bedrooms, where you have soft and plush carpeting. However, thick carpet padding can damage low-pile carpet, which is used in the busiest parts of your home (like hallways and entryways). For that reason, it’s best to use thinner, heavier padding underneath carpet in high-traffic areas.
